  1. That's very nice of you to say Rodger. It looks as if a King will succeed her. I don't suppose Sheila and I will ever know. The Queen will most likely outlive us even though it'll probably be a close run race!
  2. I always take my wallet and mobile 'phone for emergencies only. Never had to use it thankfully. My wife uses her's quite a bit but only to call for taxis. W2DR - You would be arrested in Britain mate. We never need to carry guns here. We have little crime and no dangerous animals. If it wasn't for the unpredictable weather it would be a wonderful Country to live in!
  3. I was lucky. I used to drink beer and spirits but only to be sociable. Didn't really like the taste and preferred lemonade but can you imagine drinking lemonade on a Saturday evening in a London East End pub while your mates were all getting nicely sloshed?!
  4. Boetie, don't you have to watch out for crocodiles on the inland waterways of Australia? Or, perhaps poisonous snakes? If so, you could count me out from your hobby!
  5. Goodness me flyingleaf if I felt like this at 60 I'm not sure I could last to my present 89!
  6. Sorry. If I was younger, I would choose. But at 89 I'm too old for any of it now. My home and stories in my Kindle Paperwhite suit me down to the ground.
  7. For me its got to be 'The Seekers'. I can, and do, listen to their music for an hour or two every day. And its not only the music, the words resonate strongly with me too. Their song; 'I am Australian' could well be the National Anthem of that magnificent Country and it's people.
  8. Grizzly's ugh. Give me the good old UK any day where the fiercest animal you are likely to meet is a friendly dog!
  9. Yep, joining in. Happy Birthday mate. Goodness me. You're catching up!
  10. I retired from flying quite some time ago. However, if I started again I would without a doubt use P3D.
  11. Hm. Glad I live in a flat now. I don't think a barbecue would be too welcome in here!
  12. Thanks Nick but I unsuccessfully spent over an hour trying to find Rodger Petticord's and gave up. All the best. John
  13. Ah, well. Too complicated for me so I'm off. Goodbye everyone. It's been a pleasure knowing you all.
  14. You're all too clever for me! I couldn't make head nor tail of any of it.
  15. Great present adambar thank you. It's nice to see that 'The Seekers' are still producing their wonderful music. Looking old now of course but still a wonderful sound. As a side note. My wife and I get our news from Sky. Could be wrong but of all of the programs, they seem to us to be the most balanced in their reporting. All the best. John
  16. My daughter and her bloke has just left. They're visit cheered me up enormously and then I watched the news again. Wrong move!
  17. Not a lot makes me laugh at the moment but I'm still looking for something I can smile at.
  18. It's ok I suppose to joke about it but would you lot really like to go back into combat?!! I know I wouldn't! You lot are talking a load of bullshit!
  19. I'm now torn between two places. As I said I would like to live in Italy but I would also like to live in Australia where I could listen to The Seekers all day and laze on the beaches. Oh, and visit the 'A Town Like Alice'.
