tommy8989
Hi all, I just purchased FTX England and have installed it. Everything still looks default in game however... Is there a way of seeing if i have actually installed it correctly? the setup said finished. I cant see the nice yellow fields and everything looks really quite bad. (i hope it is not installed put it like that) I dont know how to explain it better than that. Paid my money, installed it, but scenery is still default. Please help Tom

tommy8989
What is FTX central... ?
Bruce Hamilton
FTX Central is how you switch ORBX on and off, you should have an icon on your desktop. If not, you need to install the libraries. https://fullterrain.com/support#orbxlibs

tommy8989
thanks for your help with this so far. I have tried re-installing ENGLAND with no luck. I got this error message while starting FTX central: Could not find the file C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\Orbx\Scripts\FTXCentral\work\BackupFiles Trim.txt Any more ideas? To clarify, my current issue is I only have Default to select in FTX Central and not england
tommy8989
Also, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\Addon Scenery\scenery is empty. Not sure if its supposed to be. Man this is so annoying
Nick Cooper
The scenery installs to ORBX, a folder inside the main FSX directory. Please have a look for that and report what you find there. Also, run one of the installers and report the location that it says it will install files to. Thanks.
tommy8989
I have the ORBX folder. Inside are 3 folders: FTX_AU Scripts User Documents
Nick Cooper
OK. Clearly it has not installed FTX England , what is inside the FTX_AU and Scripts folders? What is the answer to my second question?

Nick Cooper
It looks as if the library may have installed but not the FTX England files. What size is your OrbxFTXEUENG130.zip file?
tommy8989
3.6 gb the installation application comes with alot of files named OrbxFTXEUENG130.2 and .3 .4 up to .
Nick Cooper
Try to install FTX England again, there seems to be no reason why the files should be missing but clearly they are. Watch out for any error messages from the installer.
tommy8989
I have deleted everything and im starting again. Should i download and install the librarys first before trying England again?
Rob Newman
There are a couple of things that might be causing some issues here... 1. It looks like you installed FSX to the default location, inside the "Program Files (x86)" folder... This location is known to cause problems as from windows 7 onwards, this folder requires enhanced security to make adjustments like copying or renaming files... and using FTX Central is doing just that. It is recomended to install FSX into its own folder, somewhere outside of the "program files (x86)" folder. 2. FTX Central will not show "England" as a selection, but if properly installed, it should show "Default" and "Europe"... these "world zones" cover multiple full region packs, so for example, if one day you install Pacific Northwest region, you'll see "North America" added to FTX Central. 3. The new libraries should fix this, but just in case, check this thread and if you need to, make the adjustments... http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/89673-temporary-workaround-for-installing-orbx-scenery-with-fsxse/ This next suggestion may sound drastic, but I would suggest removing FSX entirely and reinstalling it into its own folder (you can instruct the Steam installer to use a different install location), then reinstall England and the libraries... it should fix the probles but better yet it will save future headaches in the long run. tommy8989
Ok thanks for the infomation and help. I will re install FSX to a differnt location. 1 last question (hopefully), is it easy to instruct steam to install to a new folder? will it give me the option or do i need to change some settings? tommy8989
Ok, Im still having problems I re-installed steam and FSX SE to its own folder. Now i seem to be getting a different error during installtion of either the librbary or the england scenery. '' Radio Buttons > On next, Line 10: Argument 2 must be of type string. Stack Traceback: 1:[Radio Buttons > On Next] Line:10 in main chunk '' I have no idea what all that means... The error message happens on both installers at the point you have to chose between FSX and Lockheed mArtin Prepar3D Version. I choose FSX, click next and then get all the error above
tommy8989
if i cant get this working can i get a refund?
Nick Cooper
The message means that the installer can't find FSX. Having moved Steam and therefore FSX, you will need to point the FSX registry entry to the new location. You can use the Registry tool you will find on this page http://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.php to find out where the registry entry points now and then change it to where you have now put FSX Steam or if necessary, create a new one.
