Short hop over the Alps to Fox Glacier airstrip, newly added for NZSI SP1. Glentanner airport has got a major upgrade for the Service Pack- at least I didnt see the tourist facilities by the road before or the other details that I see there now, and there seems to have been some landclass tweaking as well.

... and a look NW at Mt Cook and the Tasman glacier

A quick climb to 13000 feet, which only takes a couple of effortless minutes in the Bearcat, and its a whole different world over there on the west coast, from very dry to very wet and lush.

Finals at Fox Glacier. The township has been added as well. Tiny but it makes a difference when all these little communities are in there- thanks to all who worked on the service pack!

This is a beautiful strip but I made a terrible landing short of the runway, which would have had me hitting the fence. Checked a Pilot Report on the Bearcat and read that at final approach speed it "will quit flying the second you bring the nose up". Can't blame the flight model...
