Creating Videos

Recommended Posts

For years I have been making videos of things - mainly family or holidays -and recently a few simple sim videos

However - some of the more recent videos shown on u-tube - not just reviews etc - but definite productions

with multi angles and Multi aircraft  - and I saw one at Duxford using fire engines to dowse a Lightning engine fire

How did they get the engines to move around for example

is there anywhere where one can get advice on making these videos - especially the 2020 ones?? - any members of

this forum amongst the above Spielbergs ??

Hi John,

Is this the video you are talking about?  In one of the comments the creator mentions he used JoinFS to record and replay individual flights to create the video.  He then links a youtube video with a tutorial on how to use that.  Of course this is just one component of video production, but it goes some way to explaining this particular video.

@bradb, thanks for the mention, much appreciated.

@John Heaton, the Duxford video you mention is here:

https://youtu.be/WdriA2RuiNo

The maker of that video then made another video to explain how he does it:

It is basically using this:

https://joinfs.net/

So with the above, as well as use of drone camera and, of course freeware and payware add-ons, you can achieve that sort of thing.  It seems to be quite complicated and time-consuming, but you could make virtually a whole movie or documentary if you were so inclined.

I guess, in my own case, in my relatively new YouTube channel, I keep the production values much simpler and concentrate on other values such as history, geography, maps etc for those who, like me, are interested in such stuff.  But I can see there is space for both types of production.

Yes Scott thats the one - and it is one of many using the Duxford scenery since it came on recently - including myself for a load of

screenshots which of course I cannot show on Orbx

I am just about to watch the second  -------Thanks for the info !!

Good onya Frank for all that - and something to chew over - not to old to learn new tricks - and many blokes on here to help.

I too have been having a dabble in the flight sim field and made a few videos on my "relatively new Utube channel " = even

one from YMMB (where I got my licience 50 years ago) --- to Tullamarine - passing over my old house in Beaumaris

Hi all who answered

I had a good look at how to make that multi video - and it may be to complicated for my old brain

but I have been looking at a payware software - Flight Control Replay - that I saw reviewed in PC Pilot a while ago

It looks that I can add it to my editing set up

Thanks to all
