Washington's Olympics

Rising abruptly along the west shore of Hood Canal, the Olympic Range is relatively small but quite spectacular.  The western slopes are the wettest place in the south forty eight.

In the Cowan MD500 (Magnum style) we depart Port Angeles on the north side of the range.  Vancouver Island B.C. distant in the background.

Starting into the northern foothills.

Following the Elwha River upstream.  This river, under various names, crosses the entire range.

As the terrain rises, so must we or become a small pile of scrap metal blighting the scenery.

Looking over towards Seattle.
