Loch Linnhe

Loch Linnhe, a large sea loch in western Scotland, is essentially the southwestern part of the Caledonia fault line extending nothwest through Loch Ness to the Moray Firth.  A lot of history in this area, home to some of the major clans. 

 

Off North Connell (Oban) airport headed up the loch.

If your surname is Stewart, this is where it all began - a place named Appin.

Loch Leven and the town of Ballachulish in the background - try saying that quickly after a wee dram.

Ben Nevis overlooking Fort William - named for a British king who was Dutch and known to the Irish as King Billy.

Flew west along Loch Eil to visit the monument at Glennfinnan and Harry Potter's railroad.
