Hello Ken,

here is the error message, it is asking you to refer to the User Guide.

I would recommend that in particular, you look at the prerequisite software.

The Orbx Central worker process failed to start. Please check the user guide for troubleshooting advice at http://orbx.to/central-guide

Nick, I checked all that and the fault still is there so I followed this instruction.

If you’re unable to resolve this issue, please make a support request on the forum with your Central log file attached.

So the support request above was sent including a copy of my Log File.

Would somebody kindly review my log file and see if it needs correction.

Thanks

Hi Ken

Do you have all the system requirements installed that are also listed in the user guide, which I have copied for you below?

System Requirements

Windows

Windows 7 SP1+, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 are supported. The following components need to be installed for Central to function correctly:

Additional Requirements for Windows 7 and 8

Hello Ken,

all of those links are in the user guide which you have already told me that

you have read through and applied all the suggested fixes and prerequisites.

I take it that in fact you have not yet read all of it.

Here is a copy that you can open and read without needing to open Orbx Central.

Nick, Doug, with the help of a computer expert we determined I have all the Visual C++ files requested by Doug above.

We also installed the latest 2019 version which captures all the updates.

I restarted the computer and tried to resynchronise the simulator but receiver the same error message as pictured above.

Would you kindly now review my log file to see if you can see that it is faulty and recommend next steps.

Thanks

More information - following another post where Nick said he had a similar problem, I went to the Insertion Point page and it stuck there and never downloaded my scenery file

I waited 10 minutes and no download in fact it is still saying "One moment, we're loading your scenery library".

Something is seriously wrong between my computer and Orbx Central.

Hello Ken,

your screen shot is showing that no insertion point is selected, therefore Orbx Central

cannot save a configuration when there is none.

Clearly, Orbx Central cannot see your scenery.cfg file.

There must be C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\scenery.cfg

Nick, I don't understand, there is a scenery.cfg file in the Program Data link you listed above.

My simulator works perfectly, it is Orbx Central that I can't get to respond.

Should I uninstall Orbx Central and re-install?

Other ideas?:

What about my Log file I sent above?

Thanks

Ken

Hi @Ken Terry,

Can you perform the following:

  • perform an uninstall and perform a re-install of Orbx Central
  • launch the freshly installed Orbx Central
  • check if the issue persists
  • if so attach your log file once again.

Josh, Nick, Doug, I did the uninstall and reinstall of Central and everything now works perfectly, I was able to do all functions and my old Insertion Points were still there.

Consider the matter solved

Many thanks.

Regards

Ken
