XML: repeating activations

Recommended Posts

Good day all here!

Since two days P3D v4.5 HF 2 is asking me whether to activate several Orbx' add ons each time I start up the sim, e.g. Obrx Libraires, Objects Flow, KTIW, EGPH, Charleston and so on...

I don't know why or how to solve that.

Any ideas, Gentlemen?

Thank a lot for your kind help!

Bert

My installation does the same, and it is every time I start P3D.

Mostly regions and a few airports, does not matter if I answer yes or no, next time it pops up with every ORBX addon and asks If I want to activate it.

It is not a big problem, but a bit annoying.

I am sure that one of the xml specialists will be along, now that I have moved the topic to their forum.

I don't think this has anything to do with Orbx, instead I think it is the way your copy of P3D is (not) working as it should.

They are busy with something else at the moment.

Perhaps you can attach your Orbx Central log, in case it helps them.

Hi Bert,

I have experienced this issue in the past. It is, as Nick says, a permissions issue with your add-ons.cfg file and is not something we've caused.

I'm not too sure how I fixed it previously - but you could try right clicking on add-ons.cfg, properties, security and then ensure your group/user has write permissions for the file.

It might be worth posting this in the Prepar3D forum?

That was the trick, thank you.

@Bert Groner,

I managed to reproduce this, here's exactly how I fixed it:

  1. Go to %programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4.
  2. Right click on add-ons.cfg, then click "properties"
  3. Switch to the "security" tab, then click the "edit" button.
  4. Select the "users" group, then ensure it has "full control" checked under the allow column.
  5. Click "okay" on both dialogs.
