John Dow
P3D sometimes needs a reset via the Delete Generated Files command in the P3D folder, I know I have had to resort to it in the past when something is done to a config file somewhere that P3D doesn't like. If you back up any Lockheed Martin folders you find in your User directory and C:\Program Data it can make restoring your controls and other preferences a lot easier. hyfsim
Thanks. Tried that. Also deleted scenery.cfg and p3d.cfg. Also have reinstalled client and scenery. No luck. Seems that p3d is looking for scenery but Central is hiding it somewhere else!!
Nick Cooper
Hello, if P3D is still crashing after replacing the scenery.cfg file with a default one then that is not your problem. You could try renaming your add-ons.cfg file(s) to disable any other addons.
hyfsim
Tried that.Have also tried migration of scenery to a new main library. Still crashing while trying to load scenery. I think that I will have to do a complete uninstall of P3D and start the whole thing again from scratch. Days of work. Central sucks!!
Nick Cooper
Hello, Orbx Central only adds scenery. If you remove all your scenery, both from the scenery.cfg file and the add-ons.cfg file, Orbx Central has no further effect. If your simulator continues to crash while loading scenery, either you have not in fact cleared all the addon scenery, or the problem is not to do with the scenery. You will find the correct scenery.cfg file and add-ons.cfg file in C:\programdata\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ There is another add-ons.cfg file in appdata\roaming\Lockheed Martin
hyfsim
Thanks Nick, Have deleted files as you suggested. Now no Orbx running. I can go to anywhere in world except USA west of line Chicago phoenix. Including Hawaii. Get CTD if I try to fly from anywhere in that area. Must be a P3D problem Cheers, Peter
Nick Cooper
Hello, it could be something that only affects that area. Prime suspect would be a stray Fs9 model in an AI aircraft that only appears there.
hyfsim
Uninstalled p3dv4. Reinstalled. Now will not load any of the 40 odd Orbx airports that I have. Verify files checks ok. Tried installing to folder within P3D and then migrating to a folder outside. Neither works. Deleted p3d.cfg and scenery.cfg Still no Orbx airports. Other airports, eg Fly Tampa, work. Any ideas?
