big-mike
There are two options: 1TB SSD for P3Dv4 and a 4TB HDD for ORBX and addons or No SSD and P3Dv4 and ORBX on the 4TB HDD WD Black? Mike
Nick Cooper
Hello Mike, either will work. I chose option two because then I don't need to use symbolic links.
big-mike
Thanks Nick, There is no speed difference? Mike
Nick Cooper
There is speed difference between an SSD and an HDD, however, as soon as any files are on an HDD, they can only be loaded at the speed of that HDD, even if P3D itself is on an SSD. There is no discernable difference in the game in either case
big-mike
Okay, last question:do you think, that the 4TB WD Black is a good HDD? I use WD HDD`s for more than 15 years and had never any problem. Mike

I think both respective brands seem to be those preferred by most of us... Best of luck... Regards, Scott

W2DR
I, too, only use WD. And, IMNSHO, the Black is the best HDD you can buy regardless of brand. And Nick's right (as always), if space is an issue put everything on the HDD.....Doug
