answered PAKT-No option to start at gate

Only option at PAKT is to start at a runway, no option for a gate or ramp. Why make a nice airport if you cant start at the gate?

Aren't there other choices other than runways?  For instance, there used to be "1" and "2" as possible selections.  As I recall, one was for a gate loading spot, the other was for a parking spot on the ramp.  Not sure if P3D picked this up, but this was the case in FSX.

Thats a bummer, kind of waste of money. No since of ever using that Airport. Thanks for the answer.

The airport model is special, featuring the sloping taxiway and split levels.

You can place your aircraft at your chosen starting point and save a flight.

It would be a shame to loose the major benefits of a unique airport model for

such an easily worked around problem.

Of course, the decision is yours.

Im asking you, whats the purpose of saving the flight. Its still going to bring you back to a runway. I like the slope, Its unique. I will just taxi to a gate. Shutdown and than start up again.

The problem is that if the parking spot is added to the airport model,

the aircraft loads at that parking spot but under the model, not on it.

This does not happen in FSX but the developer is no longer with Orbx

to fix the problem that only occurs in P3D.

 

If you taxi to your chosen parking spot and then save the flight,

when you select that saved flight, your aircraft will load at the

saved parking spot which is where it was when you saved the flight.

If you then want to start at that chosen parking spot, instead of

using go to airport, select your saved flight and your aircraft will be

on the model, not under it.

i must of searched with wrong words , and i have been saving my flights as mentioned as it is a very distinctive airport ---So ill continue as before, no big deal  save a jet above and a general aircraft down below  Thanks Louis

Easy solution ; Slew aircraft where I want it to start from.

If you put the aircraft where you would like to start a flight then save the flight,  At any later time, you can load that flight and the aircraft will be at the location where you saved the flight.  (I know this is an old post but it may help someone else who gets hung up about PAKT not having parking spots.)
