Pacific ocean sinkholes

All,

When flying over the South Pacific from the Solomons in the direction of New Zealand, I came across a few "sinkholes" in the ocean.

I have two pictures attached. The coordinates of the first one (A-20) are S16.3.50 E167.5.17. The other one with the Otter are: S16.53.53 E167.57.60.

I have installed FSGU_NG, FTX PNG, FTX New Zealand and FTX Australia.

When crossing the edge the aircraft attitude does not change even the altimeter doesn't.

After a while the terrain smoothes out.

Any suggestion of what this could cause?

Regards

Hans

I use 10m mesh resolution.

Thinking aloud; could it be related to FSGU_NG?

Hi Hans ... try a few resolution settings - from the highest to the lowest - and see if anything happens.

Easy to test if it's FSGU NG ... just untick it and see ...

Adam.

All,

I am amazed. I made the same flights and saw a perfect Pacific ocean. So no problem, sinkholes, end of the world or whatever. Strange isn't it.

If I would have seen them again, then one could try to find an answer. But now one can't do anything. Or perhaps, just forget it.

Regards

Hans
