Grant Meder
Hi guys, I recently upgraded to P3D V4 and at night it looks like my FTX Global and openLC North America blend with default to get this ugly ground texture issue, as you can see in the attached image. I've installed everything like normal in the FTX Central so I don't really know what to do.

Grant Meder
Hey Doug, Just to clarify, in the picture I was using just FTX Global as it was taken over Europe where I have no extra ORBX regions. I'm not talking about ORBX 3D Lighting, but rather the ground textures, since they are lighting up yellow and look like default P3D V4 Night lighting, so I was wondering what that issue might be. Holger Sandmann
Hi there, perhaps it's a similar issue as discussed here? https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/145387-lights-issues-after-install-vector/ Cheers, Holger
Grant Meder
I use REX and PTA, not Envshade, and I never got those kind of spots on the ground before with just FTX Global and openLC NA.

Grant Meder
They look exactly the same without shader modification

Grant Meder
Yes, even when restoring original shaders the ground at night still looks like the picture I put up earlier.

Nick Cooper
Hello, here is your image, described as Quote FTX Global and openLC North America blend with default to get this ugly ground texture issue, as you can see in the attached image and Quote in the picture I was using just FTX Global as it was taken over Europe where I have no extra ORBX regions. Here is what I see, FTX Global Base and P3D v4.1 over a similarly unnamed european city with no shader or other modifications.
Grant Meder
Yes, mine has all those weird yellow spots on the ground, which still showed up without any shader modification. How can I fix it to look like your textures? Maybe my scenery library is messed up? I'm clueless
Nick Cooper
Firstly, could you post a shot with its coordinates so that a comparison can be made. Secondly, try reinstalling FTX Global Base. You can do this by deleting ORBX\User Documents\Versions\ORBXUser DocumentsVersions. Run FTX Central and select Install product. All the files will be checked and added as necessary. Grant Meder
I don't have the Document "ORBXUser DocumentsVersions" In the version folder, and I have already tried a full reinstall of all my ORBX products. Here is a shot from an unmodified P3D, and it does not look like the screenshot you provided. I'll also attach my scenery library:
Larry_R
Hello, Pending your posting a screenshot with coordinates per Nick's request, and based on your images above, I think it's worthwhile confirming that you are in fact using the default shaders by deleting the shader folder and letting it re-generate on the next use of the sim. (It won't hurt to do it again if you have just done it; make sure you are deleting the correct folder.)
Nick Cooper
Sorry, I seem to have missed off the document name. The one to delete is ORBX\User Documents\Versions\FTX_GLOBAL_BASE_PACK.txt. I am wondering if you are seeing a mixture of Orbx lighting but over default textures.
Grant Meder
Nick, Here is what the document said: FTX GLOBAL BASE PACK - Version 1.41 June 2017 And yes I agree, like I said earlier it looks like ORBX lighting over default P3D night textures
Nick Cooper
You would need to delete the "document" and let FTX Central check all the files, as I described. It doesn't matter what the document reads if the installation did not go well. Make sure your simulator is not running while FTX Central is at work. Grant Meder
Deleted the file, and FTX Central said to install FTX Global, so I did, but same results Looks like the default P3D textures are merged with FTX still.

Nick Cooper
Sorry, I cannot replicate this, I am far from sure that what you are seeing is not still influenced by your shader modifier. I cannot make the scenery look like that using the default P3D sliders, though I can come close with brightness at 2.
Grant Meder
So is there not really a way to fix this?
Nick Cooper
It remains my opinion that the problem lies with your modified shaders.

Nick Cooper
Only because mine are also default and look nothing like yours.
Grant Meder
So my scenery library isn't an issue? I'm puzzled by this but it makes flying in P3D pretty unbearable with bad ground textures

Grant Meder
Hey Doug Yes I've tried lots of different things. I've changed my settings, reinstalled everything, tried different shaders (as well as removing modified shaders) and nothing changed. Is there something we are missing? Doug Sawatzky
Please confirm you have done as Larry has suggested in his #18 post and go to your (C:)\Users\You\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D and delete the entire Shaders folder. Then restart your sim and let them rebuild.

Grant Meder
My monitor settings and GPU haven't changed since V3, and it looked normal there. Thanks for the help, maybe I have another program that is changing the textures or something.
