Need two G4M 'Betty' bombers and six A6M 'Zeros' plus a flight of 16 P-38 'Lightnings', including 4 shooters from the 339th. Already have freeware add-on Solomon Island terrain including anti-aircraft and bomb smoke in and around Bouganville. We know where and when the Japanese and American flights departed and their routes. I just have to figured out what their speeds were, which I should be able to do by working backwards from the known intercept time. Then AItrafficX can send them on their way. I'll fly as part of the shooter fight and take screenshots of both flights enroute and during the engagement. I was just making a joke, I love that saying too. Not looking for work, having too much fun! Very slow progress on the Project Vengence re-enactment. Figured out the routes and speeds, so I managed to create the AI flight plans for Japan and US. And flew part of it as a flight of four, as practice. Loaded the guns but waiting for the big drop tanks. At 200MPH were looking at five hours--six hundred round-about miles up and 400 when we boogie for home--plus who knows how much fuel we'll use during combat. We'll need all we can carry. First section ready to go. Damn it's hot! Should have put the window down! Formed up and on our way. Installed VRS TacPack, but couldn't get yoke buttons to fire the guns. Works in the VC, but on not the Saitek. Probably TacPack, FSUIPC, SPAD.neXt interaction of some sort. I'll get it figured out tomorrow. Also need to figure out why the water is so dark. REX? Tailspin45 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Share Posted November 18, 2017 No success with P-38 guns using TacPack. Button on VC yoke works, button on Saitek yoke doesn't. Working on it. Must have a virtual short. But I launched a formation of two Bettys and managed to intercept them with four Lightnings, although we couldn't shoot the suckers down.
