Hello Germany, hello new GPU!

Nomad One

Recommended Posts

FINALLY got around to replacing my GTX 960 for the power of the 1070--and man are the results incredible! Now I was able to reset my system and go full P3D. Without any further raving, here are some of my first shots. Pictured here is the great freeware scenery of Rugen airport, along with Alabeo's Extra 300, AS16+ASCA, FTX Global and the recently discovered Ultimate Realism Pack by SimHead. It's nice to actually experience ORBX scenery in all it's glory with high settings. If I wasn't addicted before, game over. Time to get the wallet out for a few more!

Enjoy.

I have a GTX 960 and do OK, but your shots look great!

Did your FPS go up a lot with the new install?

Steve

FPS seems to be a little better. I was already getting pretty good frames but the 960 was much slower to render and left a lot of empty land and didn't draw out the autogen for very far in the distance.

Such nice pictures.  So replacing just the video card and not the CPU made a big difference?  I have an I7-4700.

I replaced my CPU in the fall for the 6700k i7, gave me a lot of stability and good FPS but the 960 couldn't take full advantage of it.

This was very helpful, thank you....I've bookmarked the 1070 for future purchase.

"Slower to render" is something I sometimes struggle with (in P3D, not XP-11 for some reason) - maybe P3D v4 will use a different "engine" and change that and "the blurries".
