I had no idea that the lame's did the prep for the pilot's like that. I know my old mate from Qantas quite often started the NG's. Must ask him if we do the same in Oz? Don't you love his comment about the needle disagreement on the duct pressure gauge...."always something going wrong with these old planes", as he taps the gauge....haha, that's bush mechanics 101! For example, major overhauls not being financially viable to be done in Aus, in the USA, and that going to overseas maintenance bases with cheaper labour costs. It's tough when you cant compete on a level playing field. International trade involves so many factors its never a level and fair marketplace.
