A little ASN radar helps get you home in the deep Alaskan Wilderness

Back in January a very creative fellow named Roland, over on the Avsim forums, coded a fully functional real-time radar gauge that utilizes 'Active Sky Next's' radar output, the same radar source used

in the PMDG 737 and 777. It works absolutely fantastic! :) I only just found out about it about a week ago and began adding it to the VC's of aircraft that already have a radar unit but only draw clouds, not actual storm data..

Jocko - do you happen to have a link to that Avsim post?

I really like the way it shows in the C-130 panel. If it can add so much more info to other aircraft, then I might consider getting ASN. I use OPUS for my weather so haven't needed ASN.

No problem Adam, here's the link. As soon as I get all the positions worked out, x y and size, on a couple more aircraft, I'll post the configs. For some strange reason on the C130 the radar

is interfering with the drawing of the AP pop up window, which is really needed to fly the plane properly. I'll get it fixed.
