  1. @Chuns The scenery_packs.ini you have just attached is different to the one you initially gave me. It is also altered as you have added have EWXPVolume2 which I don't know what it is. You need to tell me that.Unless it is an airport it needs to below Global Airports and probably below the TEGB addons. I will not relayer your scenery_packs until you tell me what EWXP is. Looking at your XP settings they are already low but I see you have Draw Parked Aircraft enabled which will be using resource. As Fizzelle says , you should be using Metal which was the sole purpose of 11.50 version. I am on Windows so I use Vulkan but I understand that Metal is the Mac equivalent. It should get you much better fps.
  2. Back again !!!! Please attach a pic of your XP settings from the Graphics options page like in the pic attached. We can then see if there is anything we can do. It will look as though we will need to lower some settings but need to see what you are set on at present. Also attach your scenry_packs.ini if you have added more scenery, and your XP Log file. The XP Log file is located in your XP directory a shown in pic 2.
  3. Good to know it all works well. Thank you for being so kind in your expression of gratitude. Happy flying
  4. It should work OK and if it does I suggest you just delete the scenery_packs.Old file so as not to clutter up the .ini file
  5. I would be glad to assist. Please attach it (not a pic of it) so I can review. It maybe early tomorrow morning UK time when I get round to it as i will be offline shortly.
  6. Welcome Orbx concentrates on developing scenery vs planes but has recently partnered with a couple of plane developers and markets them via Orbx direct retail outlet.
  7. @Tony Wroblewski Any comment Tony on the latest observations?
  8. @ic0nIt was fixed in the TEGB South update which also introduced the new file of TEGB South Airports. The lighthouse issue was/is contained in the TEGB South Airports folder now and that folder should be above Global Airports as you have it. You could try placing it right at the top of the scenery_packs.ini. Also run the Verify Files option for TEGB South I also suggest you read through the linked topic as it covers the issue you are referring to and alsoi n i posted a pre-update mod that made sure Needles stood as a standalone addon. Take note of the required XP settings mentioned in the topic posts.
  9. Or this which is what I have always used: https://www.techspot.com/downloads/7107-hardlink-shell-extension.html
  10. I attach a pic of EGHD taken from Gateway and have arrowed where you will see the Flatten option. If you have a problem I will send you a flattened copy, but best you try yourself.Excuse the red inked writing but I did it with the mouse !!!!
  11. Please read my write up and you will see how easy it is to mod a default airports:
  12. I have rearranged slightly your scenery_packs.ini. Please find it attached below for dropping into your Custom Scenery folder to replace your existing one. I also attach a reworked copy of EGLC which will flatten the runway bump. You need to unzip and add this to your Custom Scenery folder and ensure it sits above Global Airports. Regarding military and non developed airports, you will find all kinds of airport addons, all freeware at the the link below. Orbx TEGB and other TE addons do not contain any modified airports as they are all Laminar Gateway default XP one if you are not yet a signed up member of the x-plane.org site/forums, you need to register. You will not be allowed to download for a day or so if i recall correctly so have patience. All the Airport addons are in the Scenery section as per the link: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/category/80-scenery-packages-v11v-10-v9/ scenery_packs.ini EGLC.zip
  13. @JonJ509Attach your scenery_packs.ini and I will check it. Is the True earth airport Orbx EGLC?
  14. I also think that a lot of the "missing stuff" may be intentional as it certainly allows scenery developers like Orbx to contribute potentially very heavily in these missing areas. Consider MSFS as a platform and not as a totally all encompassing, nothing else to do, complete sim. It isn't and will never be, but with MS updates and 3rd party devs contributing to an ever improving sim, then things are looking very bright, for MS, the Sim and 3rd party devs. There are going to be learning curves especially for devs let alone customers of the sim itself. No one has yet got a completed final SDK as it is constantly being worked on by MS so there are going to be initial "restrictions" as to what can be done in scenery addons, as is being noted by some. These glitches or anomalies are shared responsibilities of both Asebo and the 3rd [arty devs. When restrictions are found then Devs report that to Asebo for potential rectification. We all need to be patient and enjoy what is on offer currently as more will become on offer as time goes on. Exciting times I think.
  15. You will find out more at the time of you wanting to install. No as I also said in my post the App is NOT small, it is over tens of gigabytes. If it was small there would be no need to forewarn anyone about the issue. Regarding Windows Apps, no MSFS installs it's own App. I suggest you just follow the advice given and you can always make changes later as per the additional advice form Nick below. I feel you are trying to think of all possible computations rather than just, if necessary, changing the path to where the MSFS App is to be put. I only put the post up because many people will not necessarily have the required free space on their C drive, to accommodate tens of gigabytes if the Alpha is anything to go by. I don't want to be more specific at this point as I am still under NDA and am not sure of how much more I am allowed to pass on. I have highlighted the important parts of the info in Nicks post in red: "Hello, as I mentioned, you must remember to choose the location of the files to match your chosen location when installing for the first time. Basically, the installation is in two parts and you can have those two parts together or separate. As Jon explains, if you don't follow his advice, the app part will default to the C drive. Even if you do not use the option that Jon has kindly explained, you can subsequently use the Move option in Windows\Apps & Features\Right click on the game, to move the application files to where you want them as well."
  16. I actually clearly stated that my suggestion was to have both the MSFS App and the sim on the same drive: " I suggest you place that on the same drive as you are going to put your full installation" As Nick says though you can place it where you want. I personally never put any extensive programmes on my C drive, only utility tools.
  17. As has been mentioned in various posts here about MSFS there is a need to ensure you know where your location for downloading and installing Apps is. By default Windows places the installation of new Content onto your C drive. MSFS will therefore load the MSFS app in that location unless you change the location. It can be several tens GBs of installation and is not the same as installing the sim in total. The additional sim attributes and the major GB bulk of the sim can be installed where you direct it to be installed. I see many people reporting they have cleared space on existing HDDs or even buying new SSD/HDD to accommodate the new sim. To set he installation of the MSFS to that new or "cleared" SSD/HDD you need to go into Windows/Settings/System/Storage and scroll down to: "Change where new content is saved" as in the pic below: Then enter the new path/location. I suggest you place that on the same drive as you are going to put your full installation: Doing that now will prevent some from finding they don't have enough free space on their C drive to initiate the sim installation process.
  18. I am no expert in this area but I see a file in your pic, contained within the Aerosoft package, called Orthophoto. Have you had a chance to just remove that to a safe place and test the airport again without the Orthophoto file?
  19. @Tony Wroblewski for comment regarding 3rd party airport compatibility please.
