I don't believe he has left Ukraine. For what it's worth, a great-nephew of mine who is in the Ukrainian army refers to it as Uk.
I think wires are being crossed, I believe Viacheslav is still in Ukraine, but when he say's "It is undeniably beautiful, but UK needs me right here right now" means developing UK airports rather than airports in other countries

What is "Nool" and "VDGS"? Thanks Ed.
Jack
Visual Docking Guidance System is a system that helps aircraft pull onto stand. Basically replacing the job of a marshaller, Nool Aerosystems is just who created the plugin

Or - All developers are shying away from giving dates of release for obvious reasons ----- UD 10 and
possible aftermaths
Imo, I don't think devs should give release dates, it just creates more headaches. I really like how Orbx does their releases.

Cheers.. wonder why not here as well then
A way of marketing - Orbx only post of these forums when a product is within 10 days of release, so other platforms allow them to tease the airport..

Dear Mr. Correira, thank you for comming allong here. I know you are the CEO of GAYA. Since more then a year i try to get in contact with the support over Zendesk from your company. Cause of my issues what i have, i just wanted your help. The last try was on th 29th of july this year with the number 790! Also no answer. I know that you are busy with Asobo. But it is very frustrating that nobody is willing to help. And then there is a moment where you get angry. Sorry for that. Cause you think, i bought a product and you have some problems and there is nobody to help. Ofc, Orbx is not able, cause they didn't made it. They just sell your products. That is all i have to say. I missed the support from your company. Ok, all the best Thomas
Thomas, Ed works for Orbx....hence the massive Orbx Administrator signature.

Is YMML for MSFS in development?
It is;

I can't talk about London, but where I live in the countryside, I've see thick fog, where you can only see 10-15 feet in front of you. I've even had to stop driving because of it and wait for it to clear up a bit

It seems to be affecting those of us on European severs more than anywhere else

I've had nothing but CTDs, I thought it was GSX as it coincided with installing GSX, but it now has become apparent it's to do with MSFS servers

Hi Robin,
Yes ESSA is in the works by Marcus, although there's no ETA I've seen

What I am not getting my head around is why statics are placed when there is an actual option in the simulator settings to add these if wanted?
As far as I am I am aware, this option only adds Asobo AI aircraft - which aren't very realistic, they're not even real aircraft due to licensing issues, and they have fake liveries, so adding static aircraft allows for more realistic aircraft/liveries, adding to the experience.
56 minutes ago, Phil7789 said:Are you referring to the setting in the menu I mentioned? If yes I might've explained it wrong. I thought of the default MSFS setting where you can set the densitiy of aircrafts on the ground which would then populate the airport.
Nick is referring to the 'control panel' in Orbx central for airports. The same control panel you refer to for Skiathos. When MSFS first launched, these control panels weren't possible but now they are. That's why you're seeing newer airports for MSFS having optional statics. Older MSFS airports would need to be updated to allow for optional statics

I think, based on aircraft
A - X-Plane - Is that the Zibo 737?
B - MSFS - the FBW A32NX?
C - P3D - The TFDi 717?

Thanks Holger, it does make sense for you to base it of geography rather than politically or the ICAO
On the same note, Hawaii looks to be part of Polynesia, so why aren't Orbx's Hawaiian Airports part of the Oceanian tab (I am still half asleep so may have interpreted the map wrong)
*Just for clarification, the placing of products in Central doesn't bother me, the Hawaii question is tongue-in-cheek based off the logic applied to Easter Island*

As far as I've seen, it doesn't

Central and the Microsoft marketplace are completely different shops, there's no way of each one knowing what you bought from the other

Or are you seriously suggesting that FT's income would be the same whether they'd sell in their OWN store vs. one that makes money from selling other products?!
It won't be vastly different, the cut Orbx or MS takes is to cover marketing, handling fees and everything else related to it, FlyTampa have to cover the same through their own e-commerce site, so yes FlyTampa may make a bit more margin selling through their own site, but it won't be a massively higher margin. Bearing in mind we are talking about £15 products, so margins are incredibly small no matter where you sell.
51 minutes ago, mburkhard said:f Microsoft takes 35%, then you can kind of extrapolate how much Orbx would be taking, and no it's not 5%, otherwise every developer would obviously sell here immediately.
No-one said that, Orbx probably take a similar amount, probably on par with MS and Simmarket etc.
51 minutes ago, mburkhard said:Amazing how one gets grilled here trying to defend a small developer's decision to not sell all their stuff in foreign market places if they have their own store.
I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with what Orbx is doing, I'm buying from their store too, obviously!
I just hate seeing people trying to force developers to sell through Orbx by shouting "I only buy your stuff if you sell at Orbx" all over social media. If some devs don't want to sell at Orbx, or the Marketplace, they usually have very good reasons for not doing so.
I don't know if it's a language thing, but you brought this 'grilling' onto yourself, this post was purely an is X product coming to Orbx, no-one is forcing anyone (hell flytampa probably aren't even on this forum to see).
My involvement was a comment of the strangeness of the situation, because FlyTampa is 2 (maybe 3) developers under the same name, but 1 developer has chosen one route (selling through Orbx) the other hasn't followed the same route, now yes there's probably reasons but it's very strange. Also it's not like this developer only sells at their own store, they sell at simmarket and the marketplace.
51 minutes ago, mburkhard said:If you guys want to punish those developers by ignoring them, sure, go ahead and miss a lot of fantastic stuff.
No-one said that, personally the ease of central is why I buy here. I personally don't like FlyTampa's e-commerce system, it's very 2010/FSX times of an installer/serial code compared to nowadays of Central/Contrail/every other manager, but I will get Corfu (just like I did Copenhagen and Vegas) through their website, I just won't rush and will probably wait for Amsterdam before purchasing Corfu as it will probably be the next release from FT not on Orbx.
@Nick Cooper, is it worth closing the thread, it's original purpose has been served and has been taken down an unneeded path by someone when it didn't need it.

This one is rather simple, isn't it. FT has its own sales infrastructure. Orbx taking away a big chunk of the sales price, why would you want to sell all your stuff at Orbx and decrease your income? While offering FT scenery at Orbx might increase the product's visibility and generate additional sales, other people will also buy there just for convenience, even though they already know FT products and where else to get them, thus severely decreasing FT's income.
OBRX Central, while convenient, is not the centre of the universe. People saying "oh I will only buy things if they are on Orbx Central!", I find that rather silly, and lazy. If you like the product or the developer, then support that developers business decision and buy at their own store, how hard could it be.
2 things
1) FlyTampa sell on simmarket - do simmarket not take a chunk? Also flytampa sell on the marketplace - of which Microsoft take 35%
2) FlyTampa does sell on Orbx...one developer does, one doesn't. I was just stating how it's strange 2 developers under the same name have chosen different avenues.
17 minutes ago, mburkhard said:thus severely decreasing FT's income.
Interestingly, Mathjis Kok at Aerosoft was talking about direct sales from aerosoft vs the marketplace, and he said that profit from each avenue is actually similar, so this point you make is incorrect.
Oh and I never said that i would never pick Corfu up, I probably will, but I won't rush to get like I would at Orbx.

Thanks. Aren’t the Orbx airports better than the additional ones? And is it like P3D where the airports in Orbx’s regions are better than the default? It’s a whole new learning curve with this. I especially have to spend some time looking at Orbx’s stuff.
Yes the Orbx airports are better than the Asobo handcrafted airports, that's why I don't fly to the additional Asobo airports as I am too busy flying to Orbx (and Partners), Flightbeam, Flytampa airports. I'm not sure about your other question, of the top of my head, the Alaska mesh is the only product that includes a upgraded airport (PAJN), I'm not sure if any other Orbx region/landmark product upgrades any airports.

Where is Orbx ? What will be the next release ?

Dom, obviously that's not true, go look at the 2022 roadmap, also look at the 2021 roadmap discussion as it's been discussed that Orbx are showing YMML off on other social media platforms.
Also I'm not sure how it works in Oz, but for the UK side of Orbx, July and August is probably when people take holidays.
There's a saying in english (probs in other languages), no news is good news. Have a little patience
