  1. Tearing is only really going to be an issue in MSFS when panning your view around. If you are doing this regularly then you may want to lean towards the Dell. I also personally prefer the wide aspect for flight sims although if sitting close enough to the TV then it is less of an issue. You will also get better fps running at native on the Dell. The LG is the bigger panel though and will yield the better image, especially if Windows gets its HDR act together.
  2. I agree. I don’t mind providing it has no real impact on performance but I never check out airport interiors in sim. Seems a lot of people like this kind of thing though.
  3. Long overdue but great to see it is in official development now.
  4. My favourite is the top of the o2 but I love the shadow on Elizabeth tower! Very well crafted.
  5. All fairly sound thinking but remember VRR is one of the components of G-Sync so don’t treat them as separate decision points. If you have g-sync then you already have vrr.
  6. Any on these monitors will be just fine for MSFS and they are all very similar in spec - same size, screen technology and feature g-sync which will work with your RTX 3090. I would strongly look at an ultrawide screen for MSFS though as I think it is more immersive and your GPU is more than capable of driving 3440x1440 for example.
  7. I have this same monitor. As mentioned, the extremes are usually noticeable with a little stretching, especially coming from a monitor with a more narrow ratio but you get used to it really quickly. Just a by product of trying to fit a wide field of view onto a relatively flat, 2d surface. It’s also the same for all monitors with the same ratio in MSFS. Just be cautious that zoom level will exaggerate the effect, especially if using the drone camera and zooming out.
  8. I don’t recall the default setting but I would recommend enabling it if you are not experiencing any issues with it as it is essentially caching the most recent locations which is helpful if you fly the same regions frequently.
  9. It’s recommended to delete the cache between updates. I would enable it again and test and hopefully it is resolved- it’s easy enough to turn it back off if the issue appears again.
  10. Got to be honest Nick, I have only removed one Asobo airport and it has never been reinstalled again to date. This sim moves in mysterious ways it seems.
  11. Regarding the removal of the Asobo Liverpool airport, no need to go hunting in the official folder. When in Sim, go to your profile > content manager. Search for Liverpool then click on it. This will give the option to delete it. This not only clears it from the sim but frees up the disk space. If you want to add it back in, come back into the content manager and you will now have the option to install it - you will never lose access to anything you delete from the content manager and this can remove many things including other airports, aircraft, bush trips etc.
  12. Thanks again for the Boosttester tool. Been playing this weekend and very helpful to have that when monitoring each core individually. Only tested a few scenarios so far but getting a better idea of what the cpu is capable of.
  13. Yup, will keep an eye out for that one too. In the meantime, I did some quick undervolting with the RTX 3080 FE last night and found a couple of stable settings getting me a reduction of 5˚C, 90 Watts and an increase of 2-3fps.
  14. Thanks PiotrMKG. So you are using the single core option and doing them separately? I’ll take a look tomorrow. I’m going to concentrate on the 3080 FE in the morning and go back to the 5800X later. What is the best way to determine the best cores? Monitor during a stress test?
