NZ & Australia FTX installed. What else to add?

Hello, first post. I just installed in FSX-SE your FTX NZ South Island & Australia atop the Abacus World Extreme mesh. My questions:

  1. What benefits would I get for these 2 regions if I bought FTX Global? I know it will help worldwide, but does it augment these 2 regions too?
  2. What benefits for 2 these regions if I bought FTX Vector?  I'd like more realistic cities beyond those in my FTX installs. The coastlines seem fine.
  3. Doesn't seem much point in DX 10 for Windows 8.1 64-bit on i7 1.6 GHz w/ ATI HD 5850. Performance is fine under DX 9 and trees aren't black boxes. Am I missing something here?
  4. Is there a recommended mesh replacement? Abacus WE is just FSGenesis repackaged, a 19 m mesh.

Thank you for a good product!

Welcome.

You won't see any benefit in either of the two regions that you own

from either FTX Global or FTX Vector.

In fact it is recommended that Vector is not used with Australia.

Both regions already comprise of all the elements of FTX scenery.

I assume from your post that you are already aware of the improvements

Global and Vector make to the world outside FTX regions.

If you are happy with the way Direct X 9 displays your scenery, then

there is of course no need to attempt a change to Direct X 10.

You aren't missing anything, but those of us who do use it find that FSX is

more tolerant of complex aircraft and highly detailed scenery.

As to mesh, for Australia, you will find "Holgermesh" for the whole of

Australia in the freeware section and New Zealand comes with its own

mesh.

(I assume that your i7 doesn't really run at 1.6 ghz)
