TOM829 Posted May 28, 2015 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Yesterday I installed FTX global base package on to my fsx. It worked fine until this morning I loaded up at EGBB and the textures around the airport werent there. They were black. I took off and as I began flying when I moved over a bit of land it turned black but trees and buildings still remained present. I've tried re-installing but still nothing. I am not a DX10 user. Holger Sandmann Posted May 28, 2015 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Hi there, that screenshot indicates it is the same or similar issue as with the Turkish Windows version; see http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/34336-black-textures-everywhere/?p=296120 Even if that's not what you have installed perhaps check your scenery.cfg file whether it has that missing "Texture_ID=1" line in the Area.001 block. Also, are you perhaps using a replacement "grass" texture? If so what is the file date and size of "detail1.bmp" in {FSX}\Scenery\World\Texture? Superglide Posted May 28, 2015 Share Posted May 28, 2015 I have the same situation. Started recently. Black squares at KPSP. They seem to have replaced some building files. Im sure there were buildings next to the tower. This wasn't happening a week ago. My file info: detail1.bmp 7/26/20006 683KB. Maybe we can get a 2-fer here. Holger Sandmann Posted May 29, 2015 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Hi there, the ProgramData directory is an integral part of any Windows installation but perhaps it's hidden from view on your system. Either way you can find that specific scenery.cfg file by running a search for it of your entire C: drive. In any case if switching to DX10 Preview fixes the problem it may indeed be a corrupt detail1.bmp file. I've attached the original FSX version for you to cross-check. Make a safety backup of the current version first.
