The grass and tarmac aircraft carrier

Thought the Flight Replica's Heron would be an ideal aircraft for a flight in Norway.

Had not used it for a while so I was not sure which variant to fly.

As it so happens Braathens Safe thought it would be well suited for Norway too!

So ENSD Anda Airport was chosen for the departure point.

Not the most nimble of aircraft to do a 180 in a tight space.

Not much room for error at this airport. No undershoots or over runs here.

We will take the first fijord on the left.

Not really suited for the Heron's long wing span.

Notice the canard on the port. A strange feature in cockpit shots!

The weather clears lulling me into a false sense of security.

Getting to the head of the valley the clouds close in again.

Really got immersed flying in cloud trying to keep and even keel and height so as not to run into anything solid. No more screenies until I got into some clear weather.

To be continued.....

Very nice set of shots , great plane ::)

Nice set of shots from this old timer airplane.

Cheers,

Ruud

Trouble is that this old timer typing can remember when they were a fairly common sight!

Great shots and flying skills :)

It was all done by mirrors.

Lovely shots and a fine looking bird .

Cheers

Seems like a demanding flight with those low clouds. Nice set, good luck for the next leg.

I was pretty harrowing but thanks to the "P" button and Google Earth I was able to navigate my way through. Don't know why RL planes aren't fitted with these valuable aids.

Looking forward to seeing how this ends....... Great captures.

That weather certainly looks challenging.
