dayandj
Hi, I have recently purchased the ORBX Lancair and I absolutely love it! The only problem I am having is that the aircraft has a tendency to bank to the left on its own. I have read that some others did experience the same issue but there was no solution provided. Any idea what could be causing this?
Bruce Hamilton
Try turning on the AP and let it trim itself, then shut off the AP. Should stay pretty level, provided your controls are well calibrated.
Adam Banks
Without going to my PC - this often happens with aircraft that model fuel/weight correctly if they have wing tanks. Is your fuel balanced? Try switching to the other tank. Adam.
Stewart Hobson
I would echo Adam's suggestion. The manual recommends switching tanks every 15 minutes. It's a pain, but it's reality with this particular airplane. I'm still discovering all the features on this puppy. Stew
dayandj
Thank you for the suggestions guys. I was pushing it..flying at 80% power was causing the aircraft to bank left. Reducing to optimal cruising power setting of 65% fixed that issue.
Stewart Hobson
Good! That's always good to know, just in case.
Ron Attwood
I just did the Melbourne to UK race on SOH in the IV-P and as was mentioned, it's the fuel. When you spend more than 5 days on the trot in the Lancair you get to discover some nice subtleties. Still a great add on. (probably worth a 4.5 nowadays )
