Rob Newman
Are you running the latest P3D version? There was a known shadow shader bug (and it looks exactly like your video) in v2.3... v2.4 is supposed to fix that issue amongst other things... vbazillio
Thanks Rob for the support. Sorry, I forgot to mention it : I'm with Prepar3D v2.
Rob Newman
It might then be worth deleting your shaders and let P3D rebuild them... you should find the folder in "C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2" If in doubt, make a backup of what you find there, then just delete everything in the shaders folder. P3D will then rebuild everything next time you run it.
vbazillio
Yep, I known the purpose of the shader folder. I delete these shaders at every new nVidia drivers update... And on this case it doesn't change a thing.
Rob Newman
I'm at a loss then... kpsp provides the terrain, but p3d performs the shadowing... it might be worth making a post over at the p3d forums, if you haven't already. I know this issue had been raised there previously (not specifically kpsp, but in various different parts of the world).
Jarrad Marshall
G'day Vincent, Try flying with or without tessellation enabled - I remember one of these options reduced/negated the issue in earlier versions of P3D2, so it might be worth a shot too. Cheers, Jarrad
dominique
v2.4 is supposed to fix that issue It did not. More visible around mid-day. What Vincent sees cannot be cured except by switchting off terrain cast or cloud cast shadows as it seems there is incompatibilty between both. Hence the black spots. Flying mostly from the VC, its not much a problem for me but if you like being on external view it can be aggravating.
