Rob Newman Posted August 4, 2012 Share Posted August 4, 2012 Well, I have an interesting job at the worst of times to be fair, but yesterday was a little more interesting than usual... To give a little perspective, the Oregon International Air Show is this weekend and so performers have been arriving the last couple of days... Took my lunch break and just as I went outside, 3 US marine corps harriers came thundering into the airport... and then shortly after that, the Thunderbirds came by for a practice run... Obviously a crowd of excited CFIs and students soon gathered on the ramp and you could tell that the Thunderbirds pilots were playing to the crowd... they would pretty much aim to fly right over the top of us, maybe 300ft up and fast enough so one of them even giving us the sonic boom And just when I thought I'd had a good day at work, I had the privilege of coming back from a lesson and landing right behind a legend... a B-17 was sequenced into the pattern just ahead of us... taxiing back to parking behind that behemoth was just amazing!
