Driven through the tunnel twice in my life, and both times rain and mist well down to the base of the mountains. Mitre Peak, the appropriately named peak where a couple of glaciers once met, has both times been covered in gloom. It is only in calendars and flying NZ with the 'clear all weather' theme activated that I really know its really there. Maybe its just a photoshop artifact!!!

Try randomly flying the area in real weather. Then you will understand why we call it the Wet Coast of NZ.

ps the shots are great.
