Argharg
Hi, I was wondering if you needed help with the constitution of the "dummy library". We could have a thread listing them. Just loaded kors orcas with the flag on (MissingLibraryAlert=1 in [sCENERY]) and got 2 missing objects warning. (I realise those may be fsx, acceleration or orbx missing objects). I suspect that if a fair amount of ORBX affiliados were noting down and posting the GUID of the missing object in a single thread, the list would be filled quiet quickly. Just out of curiosity, what would be the best "dummy object" ? One probably want for maximum efficiency: - no texture to load, so default color, black is probably the most discreet - no effet like transparency, bump, glare etc - the smallest amount of polygon? 1 ? - super small? so maybe a 5cm x 5cm x5cm black triangle? would look like a stone. or would a single vertex be enuf? Etienne PS: I know you closed the other thread ans maybe u dont want that subject to get too much attention, which for marketing reasons I really can understand, but this could really help imho. Tim Harris
Hi Etienne, I am working on this quietly in the background Yes by all means post missing any GUIDs, but the topic *must* remain focused on the collection of GUIDs only or it will go the way of the others Cheers Tim (The jury is still out as to whether this will help anything, but I'm willing to try)

Just Fly
I got the following alert while I was flying at dusk at Darrington quite a long time ago (even before the 1S2.110 patch): Texture not found WESTSIM_MASTER_GENERIC_1_lm.BMPI was using the following line in fsx.cfg: ShowMissingTextureAlert=1But, once again, it was a long time ago, so I'm not sure if it's still missing... Argharg
tried portland, yellowstone, no problems of missing GUID, so this is only on the detailled airports, which isnt surprising as it is where we are getting CTD on approach. Tim Harris
Hi, Yes sorry I should have mentioned this, we cant do this for everything, so I can only accept missing GUIDs from ORBX products, as we cannot interfere with OZx or other company's scenery! The only safe way to know this is if all you have installed is ORBX products on a clean FSX install, of which myself and Heiko both have

Ian Routley
Any OZx fixes will need to be done through OZx, so best not to confuse the thread with OZx GUIDs.. The first step is to remove the error flags with FTX and associated ORBX airports and see whether this has any impact on CTD occurence.
Rob Newman
Hi all... Just had a few "missing" textures on a flight from Orcas (not the payware version, but the FTX default) to Concrete at dusk... WESTSIM_MASTER_GENERIC_1_LM.BMP MC_LM.DDS ORBX_3W5_HALS_POST_LM.DDS I also had a few GUID alerts, but they appear to have been notified already... I then took off from Concrete headed to Darrington and a few miles out I had a bunch (4) missing GUIDs - I did not record them followed by a terrain.dll CTD 10 seconds later... Hope this helps! Rob Newman
Thanks, guys ! Rob, can you remember where you got the MC_LM.DDS alert ? Do you have OzX enabled ? I don't have the OZx enabled... in fact I seem to have lost my backup and can't seem to find it anywhere online anymore to download. The MC_LM.DDS happened a few times, but it seemed to happen exclusively while flying through the valley (the one with Samish Lake - N48 39 40 W122 23 10) South West of Bellingham en route to Sedrow-Wooley... Once I got into the Skagit River valley it seemed to stop. Being a dusk flight, I assumed the _LM was a light map? Edit: This prompted me to go have another look for OZx NA... And there it was, right in front of my nose. Downloading now!
Rob Newman
Just repeated my Concrete to Darrington flight and I have the other GUIDs that I missed yesterday... One on the ground in Concrete: D777E320-E488-4B0F-BA8B-BEC7CB181B03 Five a few miles out of Concrete on the way to Darrington: 0790131E-7849-40EE-F551-C2A741D4AD36 15907EEC-1346-D9A6-4DA6-B8AC0154B2AF 8BEF29AF-AD4E-811B-1097-D6B2356C0435 B631B794-9844-6733-CC57-789AE852964B B9007196-D040-1CAB-1D26-C989B5BE680C All 6 look like they're already reported... I also got some more .DDS errors, but I'm starting to wonder if these are related to my Katana... I get the same error in the FSX home screen whenever I select the Katana as an aircraft... And perhaps the MC_LM.DDS is also to do with this... No CTD this time though... Perhaps giving it time while I wrote down the GUIDs helps?

Just repeated the flight I originally did (Orcas to Concrete) but this time in the Carenado 182RG. I got the same GUID reports and also the same textures (WESTSIM_MASTER_GENERIC_1_LM.BMP, MC_LM.DDS, ORBX_3W5_HALS_POST_LM.DDS) Safe to say that the MC_LM.DDS is not a Katana related texture... Rob Newman
I do have SP2 installed... Didn't ever bother with the full Acceleration pack though. I was originally getting this missing texture before I installed OZx NA... And it's the same after I installed it, so I think it's safe to say it isn't an OZx thing... Very curious... Edit: Just did a generic google search and noticed this: http://nzff.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=12051&st=0&p=8260285entry8260285 Looks like it's obviously not a common issue, but it's out there... Heiko Glatthorn
Thanks for your excellent report, Rob. I get around a lot on my hunt for missing objects and textures - but the last ones you have posted are new to me. Just to confirm, do you have OzX enabled or disabled ? Do you have other addons installed which cover the PNW area ? I'll visit of course those coordinates and check it out, thanks for that .
Rob Newman
I do now have Ozx installed and active... but no other addons in the Orbx PNW or CRM regions (both of which were part of my flight). I do have UTX and GEX, but they are currently disabled. Just happy to do my part... doesn't take any effort to write down a few letters and numbers while I fly, and it might just help! chumley
I put the additional line in my FSX.cfg to see if anything showed on my travels. Noything has to date but that may be due to the fact I have spent most of my time in recent days rattling around Tasmania and didn't have it loaded whilst trying Bowerman. However, I did notice this evening that some terrain patches west of Burnie (Wynyard) Airport look like someone accidentally spilled a 44 gallon drum of defoliant on the ground and there is no evidence of land class displayed. Could someone take a look. I live here and it is definately not right but it could be my installation. Just want to rule one or the other out. Thanks
