skkuda
Could this "coming soon very special place" be 3w5 Swanson? Curiosity kill the cat......but cant wait! Thanks
Kilstorm
I would like to say its Cushman Meadows but notone of the building mach those shown by Bill in his blog some time back. Tim Harris was also working on a special airport. My guess is its one of those two. Whatever it is, it will end up on my harddrive as it look amazing from this one shot. Spirit Flyer_old
Whatever it is, it will end up on my harddrive as it look amazing from this one shot. With me too that is pretty much a given... Kind regards,
Bruce Hamilton
Perhaps the bonus we were promised for purchasing everything during the November-December release period?
gheeD
Yeh, i also think it could be the Emma field replacement, that Bill is working on. Also, swanson is the nov-dec special airport.
luro
Could this "coming soon very special place" be 3w5 Swanson? If you are waiting for 3W5....you seem to have missed something I think Swanson is 2W3 http://www.airnav.com/airport/2W3
ricky76
I believe its Swanson as well! Either way, it will be on my drive for sure (purchased legaly )
amentiba
And 3W5 is Concrète... already purchasable About Swanson, don't forget that John closed the topic because of some people who seem not to be happy to have it for free if they have bought the 8 November / December products... John was trying to make them understand that if ORBX team wants, they just have to make it payware for everyone without possible discuss... It seems people don't understand... So, Free ? Payware ? Nobody knows for the moment. And if it is Swanson, John said it should be ready about March 2011. So the mystery is entire...
luro
I don't think this is Swanson, because 2W3 isn't located near such big mountains. Additionally, there isn't any reason for calling Swanson a "very special place"...
skkuda
Thanks luro!.....but with so much ORBX airstrips in my mind I make such mistake!
Wildbird
A special place indeed: Cushman Meadows! There's another mountain range in the back interfering a bit, since my pic is a lot higher.
6297j
Cushman Meadows! There's another mountain range in the back interfering a bit, since my pic is a lot higher. I agree. Hello Cushman, goodbye Emma, I never loved you anyway

Kilstorm
Wildbird can you give the lat and long of that location. Just interested in how FSE will read it since there is no such KCMW, I'm hoping its closer to KSHN then KPWT.
Iain Emms
Dont know where it is but i do know it will be another ripper of an airfield cheers Iain
Rockitglider
Hello, If I recall, it's near where Emma was directly west of Seattle Tac. Itnl., right before the mountains begin on one of those waterways back in there, I don't think it was a real life place, if my memory still works. Wildbird
It's here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=47.497633,-123.2129&z=11&t=h&hl=no Wildbird can you give the lat and long of that location. Just interested in how FSE will read it since there is no such KCMW, I'm hoping its closer to KSHN then KPWT. KSHN is closer by approx 6 km. ricky76
Oh yeah..... I'm going to like this one! Isn't it tucked up against the mountains on the Olympic Peninsula?
John Venema
A few more teaser shots ... The good news is that the airfield is within the free PNW demo area, so it's a perfect 'starter' airport for first-time Orbx customers.

Kilstorm
Love the new clubhouse! Bearing in mind its not finished yet. Its also nice to see a tower at this very special place for I can fritzsee er I mean foresee plenty of GA traffic calling this place home and even forming a club there. Perhaps with its release we can have a Flying Club logo put into the download so we can use it for signatures or avatars or something along those lines as Im sure this very special place will quickly become the new home of many pilots since the great virtual fire. CPDST
Hi Guys, I dont wish to kill the cat here though remember, Cushman Meadows should have a lake beside it, because it is just beside Lake Cushman. And I see not lake in those screenshots. Cheers, Craig Tatley
Kilstorm
Seems as if all the money was spent on paving the runway and the nicer club house so they had to build a little in land as lake front was a tad more costly. I'm sure there is still enough money let over though for a nice float dock as its just a stone throw away.
Rob Abernathy
Kilstrom, I'm with you on the new club site. Can't wait to get this one and enjoy the company of many new friends! The screenshots look amazing. Can't see a spot for BBQ but I'm sure it's there somewhere. Dibs on the trailer for the first weekend fly-in!
