olderndirt Posted July 24 Share Posted July 24 In 1935 Hawker introduced the 'Hurricane'. Not to be outdone, Messerschmidt showed their Bf 109 and the American Glen Curtiss Co had the P36 'Hawk'. While the Hurricane and 109 became participants in WW2, the P36 became the P40 (warhawk, kittyhawk, tomhawk et al).
