Content not showing up after install

Recommended Posts

Bought the PNG Pack 2 in Indonesia (six airstrips:  AY;TP,IS,SP,BC,NA,GH

They looked appealing enough to buy, but they do not appear to be installed.  I cannot see even one difference between a normal flight in this area, and these 'improved' strips.

Software says it is installed (Within FS) and shows the path.

Under 'Help', the app has four buttons:  Sync Simulator, and Log/Scenery Config/User Guide

I closed FS, punched Sync Simulator, and reloaded the sim, no difference.

There is no 'contact support', or troubleshooting guide in the app.

There is no 'contact support' link to be found anywhere on the website 'orbxdirect.com' that I could see.

This forum seems to be the only way to - 'contact support' - albeit a crowd sourced one.

Hope this works...

Cheers

In your Orbx Central you should see this entry.

Then you should see a similar entry to this

If that is what you're seeing then it is installed and will be in your Community folder as Orbx-airport-pngbushstrips-packs2 either as a folder or a shortcut to your library.

If you definitely don't see all the scenery elements such as houses, trees, animals people you will need to take a screenshot and upload it so we can assess what you are seeing.  Note;  there's not much difference in the runway textures between the default and this scenery, so don't expect gravel or surfaced runways etc!

Follow up:  I tried uninstalling direct to sim, and using the external Orbx directory...no difference.  Just noticed that Freedom fox/Fox2 is also not showing up in sim, even though Orbx client shows it as installed.  Today was the first day installing Orbx content after my new build/computer circa a month ago.  Previous rig had Freedom fox and other stuff showing up no problem.

Now, the Orbx content does not show up in the sim at all that I can tell.

Something odd here.

On a (possibly) related note, my sim itself always complains that FS crashed on exit - even though I used the 'quit to desktop' button.  I thought this was likely due to me using out of date Radeon software, as the Pimax crystal had issues with it after an update in Feb.  Two days ago I updated Radeon and pimax to current release versions, and expected the constant 'crash report' to stop showing up in FS.  It still does.

SOMETHING is amiss - I just don't know what.

Hello,
welcome to the Orbx forums.

To address your concerns about the lack of 'contact support' links,
in both cases, you will need to scroll down or in the "app", resize
the window.

Clicking on either the "Support" tab in the "app", or on the "Support" link at the website will take you to this web page:

where you can select the option you consider to be most appropriate and send in a support ticket.

This seems to replicate one of your screenshots:

though when illustrating scenery, it can be more useful to use another view:

You could try moving your Orbx Central "Main Library" out of the default location and away from Windows protected folders.

You can do that like this:

Which is an extract from the Orbx Central User Guide

I also commend this support forum topic to you:

I hope that John's reply and this one will dispel your impression that Orbx
does not offer product support.

Most definitely.  I did not see that in app, but yes it is there.  Sorry for being blind!

I will try moving the libraries as you suggested in the morning.  Gotta call it for the day...  If that doesn't work, will try and contact support.

Thank you to you and John for taking the time to respond - it is appreciated!

Cheers.
