As an aside, I used to be based in Yellowknife and flew for an outfit that was across the apron from Buffalo Airways' hanger. I would often bump into Mikey and his father, Joe McBryan, from time to time. I'm not sure if anyone watched their TV series, Ice Pilots, but the way they were portrayed in the series is the way they were in daily life. Very friendly and down to earth folks.

 

I fondly recall one time on a flight from Calgary to Yellowknife, we went missed a second time on the approach at Yellowknife, at which point I decided to fly to my alternate, Hay River. Once at Hay River, I was sitting on a couch in a crew lounge drinking a coffee and Joe walked in, stood at my feet and grumbled if I was the guy who just flew in from Yellowknife that wasn't able to land due to the poor weather. I nodded my head and he looked at me in frustration and asked "is the weather bad?"

 

Good times flying north of 60. Apologies for the diversion, watching that video brought back some fond memories.
