Unfortunatley i have a small footprint CPU and this is the most pwerful GPU i could get that would fit the space. TymK Posted June 21, 2020 Share Posted June 21, 2020 The GPU may be a bottleneck in some scenarios, but I recently tried XP11 and TE GB South on my new "work/light gaming" laptop with a mobile 1650 and was very pleasantly surprised with how well it ran. Certainly above expectations. If you can live with lower antialiasing settings, absolutely give it a try. The GB demo gives a nice overview of performance, especially in the denser urban areas. shermank Posted June 21, 2020 Share Posted June 21, 2020 fwiw, I have an older system including a GTX 760 GPU and Intel 4690 i5 CPU....in most situations I run P3D V4.5 with little difficulty except for the occasional dxgi.dll ctd... There is a permanent fix for the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error: Quote Browse to and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers - On the Edit menu, click New, and select the QWORD (64-bit) value from the drop-down menu, - Type ‘TdrLevel’ as the Name and click Enter, - Double-click TdrLevel and set the value as 0 (it is set to that by default, but double check) and click OK, - Close the registry editor and restart your computer for the changes to take effect! The bit that stops the DXGI error message is the TrdLevel line, that you have to create yourself. Just make sure you understand what you're getting, because if you're looking at building a budget gaming PC, you'll almost always be better served by spending a bit more money.
