The Gorge was a final test for the Lewis and Clark expedition and finally controlled with a series of locks and dams. Journey begins at the Dalles. Hood River - a wind surfers Mecca. Cascade Locks on the left and the Bonneville Dam. Off to our left, the pyramid of Mt Hood and, further down, more in this chain of volcanoes.
