demio
Hello everyone, it's winter time, and snowing like crazy, and yet at Arlanda airport, no one seems to care! Ok, seriously, the ground textures on ESSA don't switch to winter in my case: Found nothing in the configurator to that regard. Re-installed via FTXC (deleted the version text file), but no difference. Should this add-on have winter season textures? Regards, Dimitri
Nick Cooper
Hello Dimitri, yes it has winter textures but you have to use the control panel to set which surrounding scenery you have and then choose the correct date.
demio
Hi Nick, thanks for your reply. Is this what you mean? As I don't have EU Norway, my setting is correct, right? Where do I select the date?
Nick Cooper
Hello, it seems to be snow covered in January

The FTX Norway one has a different starting point for winter than the default mode. However, in all scenerios it should be snow in February. Is your simulator time set to today's date? I'll check again with January or February as month.
demio
So...on January and February 1st, everything is white with snow, also the airport. On March 1st (still winter in P3D), all is green. But if I then switch the weather to "Heavy Snows", the landclass turns white, but the airport doesn't. Landclass is affected by snowy weather so if its snowing the ground will go white. However, sceneries does not work the same way and we can only set our photoscenery to change with months. The spring in default mode begins in March, and in April with FTX Norway. So our scenery is set to have spring in March if you are not using FTX Norway. Just a simple limitation of the simulator. Here are some examples I took the time to put together to illustrate this: FTX Norway with FTX ESSA set to match FTX Norway, in March: FTX Global with FTX ESSA set to match FTX Global, in March: FTX Global with FTX ESSA set to match FTX Global, in March with snowy weather enabled:
