Need some clarification here guys please.  The M4 Severn bridge does not appear in my install... yet I have spotted the bridge in some screen shots on the forums...any thoughts?

I have a similar problem. I see no Severn Bridges displayed when flying with TE GB South - and in London, most of the bridges look like unsupported roads. Yet I can see, within the TrueEarth_Custom/objects/bristol folder, three items called Severn Bridge dds, obj and _LIT.dds. Something’s obviously not quite right with my installation. Here’s the scenery.ini, and the latest log.txt. I hope someone can put us on the right track…

 

My scenery.ini might look a bit odd at first glance, but I'm using XOrganiser to run two sets of ini files - one for New Zealand, the other for the UK.

Update: Mysteriously, the northern (Aust Ferry) old Severn Bridge has suddenly displayed, but the newer and longer southern M4 bridge still look looks like an unsupported motorway. I know it's Halloween time, but...??

There are two bridges across the Severn.

I also see only one and do not know why others see two unless they have some other scenery pack.

I've followed John's ordering sequence to the letter, so that's isn't the problem. Your clue to some second scenery pack may be pointing us in the right direction. Now who, I wonder, sees the two bridges correctly? And what do they have that we don't?

Here is the the scenery ini that I edited and saved before relaunching XP{. I have renamed it scenery_packs1.ini to avoid confusion.

 

The one I attached earlier is the scenery.ini that was clearly recreated on a subsequent restart of XP11.

I would think that if X Plane 11 can see that one, you will see one Severn Bridge,

maybe two if there is something wrong with my installation.

If you don't, perhaps one of the many others above those entries might be suppressing it?

Apparently London and Global airports are the wrong way round still but I doubt if

that is affecting the Severn crossings.

I'll amend the file to put Globals above London landmarks, as you suggest, and test to see if XP messes with the ini file again (although I did add Orbx lib to the sim and that may have affected the restart and forced an ini re-creation). Sun is now going down here in NZ, so I'll report back later. Thanks for your help!

Confirm the old bridge can be seen but not the new one.  Ian also posted pictures to confirm this.  So the product is in need of an update. This is an important landmark so presume will be treated as a priority somehow.  Some reassurance from John will be nice and very much appreciated on this subject.  Great otherwise although Orthos at 18 or 19 would have been much nicer...particularly in VR.

I appreciate the product had to be released, however I am surprised that some important landmarks have been missed or not included.  No big deal but some info on schedule of updates with what will be prioritised will be welcome.

They released early but I am happy with that, it is like an extended beta test and with such a vast scenery you really need as many people as possible testing and we got what is still a fantastic product in our hands.

It can only get better still with updates and I think it is great value considering the size of the scenery.

I am a big sim fan but also a PC enthusiast so love as much eye candy as possible and the new Laminar and OrbX collaboration looks like bringing Xmas early.

Relieved to see that this issue isn’t exclusive to me. While the devs are in the area, could they take a look at the old Severn bridge as well? It’s an accident about to happen. There is a span missing on the English side, and the road slips into the river (see the image). London is a city of interesting bridges, and in this respect, TA GB South looks rather like an early work-in-progress…
