elevation problem at all south american airports

Recommended Posts

I don't fly in South America too much but decided to take a trip today. I noticed at a lot of default airports the runway and airport is sunk. I also noticed that KMEM is also sunk, but that is a payware airport. I do have FTX South America and all my libraries and scenery are up to date so I am wondering what the solution is. I have read many posts about payware airports not working but this is with default airports. Thanks

Hi

Please:

Ensure the Orbx Libs are installed and up to date. (is there a blue notification above the settings button in FTXC3?)

Ensure all of your 3rd party non Orbx addons are at the top of your scenery library and above your FTX entries.

Then in FTX Central 3 Insertion points, move "FTX entries should be inserted below"  just below your last 3rd party addon.

Then move the "openLC entries should be inserted below"  just below your FTX entries. and click "Save".

Then run the "Force Migration" option.

Then, if you have Vector installed, there is a Vector control panel access button at the bottom of the FTXC3 settings page. When you open it you can select the amount of road coverage etc, be sure to uncheck the "Frozen Surface (in winter only)"option, and check the Australia Add-Ons under the “Settings” tab, then go to the Airport Elevation Correction (AEC tool) tab and run the auto configuration process and be sure to click on "Appy" when it is done scanning.

Cheers

Doug

Hi there,

if you're using Global Vector you also need a global add-on terrain mesh, especially when flying in areas where the default terrain mesh is of poor quality/resolution. Otherwise, airport elevations and also lakes with their fixed elevations will show up in trenches or on pedestals.

Cheers, Holger

I tried all those things and I still have sunken runways. I also installed the free mesh but still no luck. Should I just reinstall South America because I think that is what's causing the problem. One thing I have noticed is that every time I run the vector tool I get different airports in the list even though I applied and saved the changes when it was run the first time.

Verify your land class/global and vector addon... along with the airport, then run auto config...make sure to click apply! It fixes almost all off my vector issues and objectflow problems...
