Coverage - North & South America LC

Recommended Posts

It is a bit vague to be honest Nick as my question was prompted by the lack of clarity on the product page and with my purchase depending on the actual geographic area covered by the products as defined on a map perhaps?

How does the NA product work alongside PNW, Pacfic Fjords and Southern Alaska?

When you don't pay attention too much you can end up in a region or OLC NA without any notice when flying near the borders.

Are regions that bad? No! Open LC is that good! :)

Of course you shouldn't notice the borders between a full fat region and a landclass region. Seeing them would be a show stopper.;)

Assuming that you would see the borders means you haven't understood what landclass is all about. If you are a local of the area in question or know this region very well, you can tell the difference for sure! Full fat regions are much more accurate and diverse in landclass placement. In full fat regions forests are where forests are in real world, fields are where fields are in RW, villages are where villages are water bodies where they are in RW and the have the accurate shape, also vector data and mesh are included, etc. etc... Whereas OLC regions are by far not that accurate, have just a few PR areas (e. g. Vesuvius), no mesh and just not full vector data included.
