Juneau Airport is crashing P3D

Recommended Posts

I just purchased several airports from your sale.  Everything works fine except Juneau International.  Every time I try to load PAJN, P3D crashes.  I tried uninstalling and then re-installing.  Same result.  I have the ORBX Southern Alaska product installed.  Indeed, I have all the FTX Global products installed along with many, many other products.  Juneau is the only ORBX product causing problems.   Below is the crash information from the Event Viewer followed by purchase information.

Hey

i have the same Problem like you. Have install (many times) all other Sceneries (and P3Dv3), Orcas - Friday - Ketchican - Monteray, only PAJN crash in P3D V3 the Program - not the Scenery.

Can you inform me when you have any Message.

Greetings

HaJo

Exact same problem here,

Win 10 64bit

P3D v3.4

I took advantage of the sale and brought some FTX/ORBX product, when ever i try to load up PAJN its crashes P3D well before it loads so its not the PAJN elevation issue as the scenery dosnt even load.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling PAJN, ever rolled back the windows 10 fall update, Even reinstalled FTX central, all libraries are up to date.

I tried a flight from outside the PAJN area and flew to PAJN, when entering the area P3D crashed.

Still no solution to the problem, however, it is related to the q3d.dll file.  I tried starting at either of the two seaplane bases in the Juneau area and the P3D crashed each time with the event viewer report referencing the q3d.dll at the crash.  I uninstalled PAJN and went to the default PAJN included with ORBX Alaska South and everything worked fine.  Forums included other references to q3d.dll related crashes with other scenery.  Rare but not unique.

I tried turning all the options OFF in the control panel and the error still occurs.

Here is my P3Dv3 error log and further down is the full windows error log

Hi,

As a temporary work around please turn the following file off (add .OFF to the end of the name).

So,

".....\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Scenery\World\scenery\ADE_FTX_SAK_PAJN_elevation_adjustment.BGL"

should become

".....\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Scenery\World\scenery\ADE_FTX_SAK_PAJN_elevation_adjustment.BGL.OFF"

Cheers,

I had the same problem but found another fix: recompiled the PAJN_ADEP2_TRB.bgl with the P3Dv3.4 SDK.

One question:

Why is turning off an elev. adjustment bgl cause P3Dv3.4 to crash?

Cheers,

Pierre

Mostly works...  P3D doesn't crash now but if I try to jump or start at PAJN my plane is 50' in the air and falls which causes  a crash and restart to 'default'
