GlennH
Not sure if this has potentially happened to everyone or just me, but the latest ESSA patch has left duplicate bgl files in the ESSA folder. This seems to have happened because my original install had options selected “off” in the control panel. The new patch appears to have simply replaced all those files at install and not respected the installed config panel options. You don’t notice anything unless you look in the folder as the control panel options still appear to function correctly. i fixed it by doing a reinstall. The folder looks normal now. Holy Cheese
Hi Glenn, just had a look and I'm seeing the same thing. I have now 5 duplicate bgl's in both active and off versions. Cheers Jack
WebMaximus
I wonder if this also explains why I get static aircraft even when I unchecked it in the config tool? Quite annoying to say the least when you fly online...
Nick Cooper
You could simply check the files for yourself. If you have both, delete one.

Could you please elaborate a bit on this please. Exactly what file(s) do I need to delete to make ESSA work as normal again in regards to the options that are currently not working in my case since I keep getting static aircraft even with that option unchecked. Maybe the easiest solution is to uninstall/install ESSA.

Too many duplicates to keep track of. it was quicker to reinstall

Nick Cooper
Yes, the easy option is to uninstall and reinstall. The control panel switches files on and off by changing the suffix to .off. If you look in the folder and see two files, each with identical names but one with .off at the end, you need only delete one of them and the control panel will work again. WebMaximus
Will reinstall but reading your post, don't you need to match the files with how the options are currently set in the control panel for what you suggest to work?
Nick Cooper
No, whichever one remains will determine what you see in the control panel.
WebMaximus
Re-installing worked like a charm, no more static models
Marcus Nyberg
If statics shows up when deselected in the Config Tool try to reinstall ESSA. If you prefer not to then rename ESSA_PLC_Statics_Obj.bgl and ESSA_PLC_Statics_Obj_Shadows.bgl from BGL -> OFF.
