Maxrouter2
Hello i was just wondering that if i have done anything wrong because when im flying the textures are blurry and are not up to standard as orbx is supposed to be. the lights work but just the terrain is messed up. I have some screenshots of my settings and what it looks like:
Nick Cooper
Do the textures come into focus if you pause your simulator and wait a few moments?
Maxrouter2
yes i have paused the sim for a while now and nothing happens, it looks like the fsx default scenery but it seems installed
Nick Cooper
It does indeed look like FSX default scenery. Can you make a screenshot and include the on-screen co-ordinates (Shift_Z) please.

Nick Cooper
I can't see a difference here, EU England also.
Maxrouter2
oh so i guess its just how it appears? is it supposed to look like that? nothing to do with my settings no?
Nick Cooper
You can improve things by raising your settings and zooming out a bit. Google Earth would suggest that you have not chosen the most picturesque part of England for your screen shot.
Maxrouter2
yes i am running 2.1 ftx central. yeah it did migrate correctly. well thats annoying but these things happen i guess. does anyone have an idea when the fix will be out?
rdtv91
'This week' apparently, although reading this forum it's been an issue for almost a month now for users reporting issues here...
Maxrouter2
oh right thankyou anyway! one more question, when the fix is available where would i go get it? on the ftx app, orbx website or here?
rdtv91
I'd just keep checking this forum
Nick Cooper
I expect it to be delivered in a new library version which you may be able to either download or add via FTX Central. I do not think that the migration is the cause of your problem here, at least not in the comparative screen shot. My scenery is already fixed and looks exactly the same as yours. Maxrouter2
well on the orbx website the pictures of eu look amazing and realistic, but as you said earlier it looks like fsx deafult. i hope this is a problem for everyone as im not sure what to do now
Nick Cooper
Agreed, the first shots do indeed but the industrial estate looks just the same in your sim and mine and is most definitely not default. If you would like to replicate the first (Virgin Atlantic) shot with co-ordinates, I will make another comparison.
Maxrouter2
the forum wont let me add any more photos but here are the coordinates, ill let you know if it looks the same: LAT: N51o 53.34 LON: EDo 13.99 ALT: 1198FT

Maxrouter2
E0? Im not sure what it is. Also i would just like to say that at night the lights are amazing aroud europe and global. However, some areas of the terrain are blurry and some other areas are orbx standard. hopefully there would be a fix for the blurred and 'fsx default' areas
Nick Cooper
Here is the location, I have left the co-ordinates at the top. How to post screen shots is here.
Maxrouter2
That definitely looks like orbx. mine looked like a blurred mesh. is my scenery libary ok? this is very confusing now. why does your look much better?
Nick Cooper
Can you post a screen shot of the same location, using the method in the topic I linked to please?
fltsimguy
What is your LOD Radius, both of you must use the same to determine if the distance focus is related to that. Using higher like I do vastly improves the crispness of the textures. Also the texture resolution setting in fsx.cfg might be part of the issue. Or whether or not the Frames per Second are locked at say 25-30 which will push computer resources to rendering scenery. There could be a dozen issues here to work through in my view. I am one of those with a high end computer that experienced blurries after migration, the only solution I found was to lock in frames at 25-30, it works well now. But doesn't explain how a perfectly setup computer ($2,700) with appropriate settings would get blurries.

fltsimguy
LOD_RADIUS=4.500000 VS LOD_RADIUS=5.500000 TextureMaxLoad=2048 vs say 4096
GregH
Why is a failed migration not been considered as the likely issue that Maxrouter2 is experiencing? It is a common issue affecting many users right here on these forums.
Mikelab6
On my side, after migration, CPU is max loaded at 100%. This behavior is generating blurry textures as the rendering can't catch up. With a big plane going at high speed as Maxrouter's screen shot, the problem is much more present. We are all waiting for the fix...

Maxrouter2
so i have a had a mess around with your suggestions and there are some improvements that i can see, there are few blotchy patches around the eu terrain
Nick Cooper
Unless you can post a screen shot that I can make a direct comparison with, I fear I cannot advise further.

teecee
I see nowhere that maxrouter has shown his computer specs, so it is possible that it is a low end system and simply will not drive FSX with Orbx addons.. If this is not the case he could try opening his sliders somewhat in his settings display. He appears to have everything set very low. Teecee.
