Ground texture problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

have the same old problem with landclass messup after installing ORBX Scotland.

Followed all your recommendations but have the same flicker with activated Scotland- and with default- scenery.

Tried to include a screenshot but was not allowed to do so also file is much smaller than 4 mb.

But it shows the usual chaos...

By the way : How to UNINSTALL your products?

I liked you stuff and bought most of  it starting with Australia.

Best regards

Andreas

...and as an afterthought: I read all your advice and replaced the terrain.cfg.

I have backup copys and tried several of them (one dating back to the original FSX installation).

Unfortunately no joy.

Next thing to do is trying to restore the original textures.

Best regards Andreas

Standard questions.

1-  Did you install the latest library files ?

2-  Did you after installing the library files, open FTX Central, and apply "Europe"  as your active area?

Hi,
yes I installed the latest libarys and enabled Europe.
As mentioned I searched the forum (and internet) before posting my question.
Neither Scotland nor standardscenery are showing the correct textures and landclass.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi Nick,

I'm unable to post pictures. Please take a look here:

Pictures 1 and 4 show exactly the same bug as on my computer.

I tried the suggested fix (terrain.cfg replacement) but it didn't work.

Would it help to replace the scenery and texture files?

I had a similar problem with NZ that was unresolvable.  I ended up reinstalling FSX and ORBX.

While I didn't ever find a solution, I suspect that the Windows folder permissions played a part.  Before reinstalling I set the permissions for the new FSX folder, and my UAC folder, to maximum sharing and minimum security.

Since then the sim has been running better than ever and the unified lclookup process with the new ORBX libraries is working perfectly.

Although the reinstall took a few evenings, in the long run I'm sure I ended up saving time chasing the source of the problem.

Just an idea
