BernieS
I have just installed the Southern Alaska region into P3D V3.2 & have a query. The included plug-in for Google Earth shows 15 or so "unlisted airstrips". However, they do not appear to have been installed with the scenery area - at least they are not showing up in the list of available airfields. I didn't get any warnings during the installation, so just wondering what might be wrong? Thanks,
Bermuda425
As I understand the phrase, "unlisted" means the airports are not available from the airport listing in your simulator. In this case you need to fly to these fields instead of setting the location in your simulator's menu. Greetings, Bermuda
BernieS
Thanks for the swift - & accurate reply! I've just positioned myself at McCarthy, then by using slew mode was able to find both McCarthy East, & McCarthy West - two of the "unlisted" strips. Thanks for the help! Holger Sandmann
Hi there, welcome to Orbx! Indeed, unlisted means they don't have an ICAO and thus don't show up in the main airport list. There are a couple of options to explore these airstrips: 1. Get the latitude/longitude from Google Earth and use the Map option of your sim to jump to that location. You can then set up a saved flight on the ground for future starts. 2. Use your piloting and navigation skills to find the airstrips. There may even be existing guides from the good folk at RTMM in the form of "Trip-Tics" or "Here-to-There"; see http://www.return.mistymoorings.com/faq/#t and http://return.mistymoorings.com/here_to_there/ 3. There may be start position files, with fictitious ICAOs, available somewhere at RTMM or elsewhere; perhaps other users know specifics. Cheers, Holger
Dieter
Holger already mentioned to have a look at the RTMM page. I might suggest to visit below mentioned page, too. Here you'll find my csv files for all Orbx large sceneries. These csv files are meant to import into PlanG. These csv files are so called userwaypoints and contain all POIs, unlisted strips, cabins/lodges, dams, windfarms, lighthouses, landmarks a.s.o. that are included in the Otbx software. http://www.return.mistymoorings.com/mistys/#dieter
