Jack Sawyer
I'm about to finally make some flights around KTEX. But what should I set FTX Central too? I have Central Rockies, Northern Rockies, & PNW. Is KTEX part of those areas? Should I set it to North America or Global? Will it even make a difference? Thanks ORBX for some really excellent products. And thanks for your always excellent support. Best regards, Jack
Scott Harmes
Hi. Technically it is a Global airport as it is outside all of the current regions. Probably best and easiest to set FTX Central to Global - Hybrid mode. That way you can also fly in and out of the other regions and they will appear as intended. I pretty much just leave mine set to Global - Hybrid mode now, unless I'm installing something inside one of the specific regions. Cheers,
Jack Sawyer
Thanks Scott, but I plan on flying into those regions on a tour of all my ORBX airports. So do I stop the flight after I land and set FTX Central to N/A?
Scott Harmes
No you can just use the hybrid mode. Hybrid mode displays all of the main features of the regions and is completely compatible with airports in both individual regions and FTX Global. That's what I meant above, you can use it when flying between Global and specific regions. There's more info on Hybrid mode in the FTX Global user guide. Jack Sawyer
Thanks Scott, that clarifies it for me. Now to start my round Robin to all my ORBX airports in the Cherokee. Best regards, Jack
Captain Z
Once they do away with region switching, everything will look it's best, no matter where you fly, all the time. Then all you have to worry about is if you have enough fuel to get where you want. Happy Flying.
Jack Sawyer
That would makes things REAL easy. I sometimes forget and have to quit and set the proper region. When did they say they're were gonna do this?
