  1. Ok boys, are we simply trying to help the OP or not. I found @renaultpost interesting in that he found an audio file was the problem. Have seen other threads/posts where anti-virus software was the problem. Don’t know why MSFS is so sensitive to other software. But it does seem to answer the question as to why some experience crashes and others do not. In my case, I have a very simple, clean basic system (but with lots of MSFS add-ons) and virtually no crashes. Cheers.
  2. Hi @MGC. There is a pretty active, but small, anti airport group, but overall the community supports the airport. Recently a rather crazy Council Mayor issued notices that the airport was not properly licensed etc and eviction notices were sent to the several dozen tenants!!! After a long and costly battle the Council lost and, I think, had to pay costs. More recently, a new large housing development right next to the airport was opposed by the community and the airport, and the Council subsequently did not approve the development. But I guess the developers will appeal. It’s a shame that there is any hostility at all to the airport because it is so pretty and does so much for the community - police, ambulance and fire fighting aircraft all use the airport, so much money is raised from airshows etc and donated to local causes, a free picnic ground and viewing area is provided, etc etc etc. You should buy a copy of their latest calendar which includes some historic pictures! Cheers.
  3. Ah, my home airfield. Glad you solved it. Hope Orbx can convert it for MSFS. Cheers.
  4. Come redo the famous 1927 record flight of Charles Kingsford Smith & Charles Ulm around Australia. Fly in the famous "Southern Cross". See where Qantas started. This video is Part 1, Sydney to Darwin via Brisbane. Part 2 will be Darwin to Perth. Part 3 will be Perth back to Sydney via Adelaide & Melbourne. Orbx airport scenery used. Cheers.
  5. Thanks Anna, nice update. Just one Important point about your movies/Netflix analogy. You made it sound like just a timing reason for buying those add-ons. That would not be a good enough reason for me because I would be prepared to wait (finances etc). I buy them because I thought they would be significantly better quality than what comes out in a WU, especially since you then improve them further after the WU. Am I wrong? Cheers, and thanks again.
  6. Cheer Iain, and thanks for everthing over the years.
  7. Thanks Graeme. I am a little bit amazed that although the MSFS scenery is the best that is available, it is still a long way from the real thing! Cheers.
  8. Thanks. Yeah, I did have it in initially, but the the video was a bit long and I was more interested in the smaller airfields. Fir sure, it’s a great airport. Cheers.
  9. Come visit the Colorado Rocky Mountains & the USA's highest airport. Visit the main holiday/ski resorts & mountain passes in summer, & do some winter circuits. Nothing available from Orbx here - opportunity!? Cheers.
  10. Join me in MSFS to replicate YouTuber PNG Missionary Bush Pilot’s latest scenic, low-level jungle flight. Would love to see Orbx stuff for PNG in MSFS. Cheers.
  11. Need some Orbx love around Wichita, “The Air Capital of the World”. Cheers.
  12. I have just discovered that the high-quality KingAir magazine is a free download, including back issues. Not just about the KingAir, but lots of great general aviation reading as well which was of interest to me. Thought I should share. Cheers. https://kingairmagazine.com/issue-archive/
  13. Thanks guys. The ICAO codes are included in the video for each airstrip, and also mention in the video the 2 in red above. Also mentioned in the video is that freeware is also available for Sindeni, Malamunda, and Nankina, as well as the 2 in red above. Gotta love flying in PNG! Cheers.
  14. Thanks for your comments. Airport scenery from flightsim.to Cheers
  15. Come visit the 10 most dangerous places to land in Papua New Guinea (PNG) according to YouTuber PNG Missionary Bush Pilot. Need more Orbx love for PNG in MSFS. https://youtu.be/hb4x1aBeRGo
  16. Come visit remote airfields in Russia that still have quaint, old-fashioned timber terminal buildings. Experience Russian Siberia in real time and real weather. Fly in a Russian Antonov An-2 bi-plane with beautiful cock-pit.
  17. Happy and safe holidays to you and yours Ian, and to all Orbx lovers. Cheers.
  18. Need Orbx to produce some Venice scenery! History of this airfield, with a Simulator flight:
  19. @Scott Harmes, thanks for your comments. I only fly GA in real life, so this may help you. The main thing I got out of the rather complex Jacobson flare was elevator for aiming spot control and throttle for speed control. I was taught the opposite when learning to fly. I find the new way more intuitive and suits me better, but everyone is different. The other thing that I find really helps is eyes at the end of the runway (not on the ground immediately in front of you) during the final flare/holding off, but I think everybody knows that. I like using the Sim for practising landings and other things for my real life recreational flying. Cheers
  20. Don’t think you have to buy the App - just read this. https://www.jacobsonflare.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015-03-04-australian-flying-article-optimised.pdf
  21. I personally use this in real- life flying and in the Sim. Different to how I learnt. What do you think? Cheers. https://www.jacobsonflare.com
  22. Come visit the world-renowned Vercors in France - an area of dramatic mountains, cliffs, gorges and caves at the western end of the European Alps - a key centre for the French Resistance in WW2 because of its fortress-like nature. See the "airfields" - just fields/paddocks - where the Allies did supporting parachute-drops of weapons, ammunition, supplies and personnel, along with some occasional landings, but were unable to prevent the eventual massacre by the Nazis. Would be nice to see an Orbx airport for Grenoble. Cheers.
  23. This was featured in my aviation magazine weekly email. I thought it was especially nice. Cheers. I wish I could make my MSFS videos look like this!
