OK, my response to the original question: Terrible T's story of the "Man and the Ostrich" just posted here!
Good laugh and well done.

Credit where credit is due: W2DR posted that one I merely made an appropriate comment - but thanks for the kind thought Ken

At my age and in my condition I can't shoot or fight as I have done before and war would have to come to my door - but I could still make various things such as Molotov cocktails if someone else could throw them .....

Sad days for Australian Cricket - yesterday the legendary Rod Marsh who at least had a decent innings at 74 YOA - today the marvelous Shane Warne at only 52 who was still contributing so much to the game and was in the midst of giving us another great commentator to rival the legendary Richie Benaud. Perhaps in future matches we will see groups of Warnies along with the Ritchies in the crowds

I am safe here in Brighton which becomes an island in the floods, just a bit of flooding in the back yard of my sloping block caused by backed up storm-water drains and high tides in Moreton Bay. The adjacent Pine River never floods seriously for some reason. However the Brisbane River to my SE about 8 miles is a different story and my youngest son who lives with me could not get to work at Eagle Farm for a couple of days. Many of our friends in the inner city suburbs and upstream suburbs had to evacuate.
One of my nephews is a Jetstar Captain and he had the so far unique experience, after landing his aircraft at Brisbane Airport, of being towed off the runway to his parking position - the runways were the only areas that were not under water!

Cajun - loved it since the early 1950s - so many artists over the years have done covers including Hank Williams for starters.

The first cat I ever took home for myself at age 6 was a small kitten who looked like Tom from the Tom and Jerry cartoons - we had several adult cats that Mum and Dad were allowed to manage and Tom fitted right in there. However, the joke was on me as several months later "Tom" produced a fine litter of variegated kittens! So she became Thomasina on my mother's suggestion although my father unkindly suggested she should be called Tart .....
