FSX is where I stopped - great to see these excellent shots. With the further development of PCs and Graphics Cards over the years my FSX on my modest system runs at 60FPS like greased lightning except in Orbx cityscapes with lots of local addons where it can get down to 15FPS but still smooth and flyable - and of course the huge range of FSX aircraft, free and payware scenery (except for Asia OLC haha) and SIM features that didn't make it through to, or don't work properly in, constant fiddle P3D.
I have mates that still use FS9 because of the features that didn't make it to, or work properly in, FSX! Not to mention their love and admiration for VOZ.
So it is possible to have a great SIM experience in the older sims without being at the sharp and expensive edge of technology or keeping up with the Jones's

4 Glen Campbell and Band supported by Blood Sweat and Tears - Twin Towns RSL 1982
5 Bob Dylan and His Band - Darwin Gardens Amphitheater 1997

In Australia we have an expression: "there is a near queue and a far queue - this seems like a far queue"
I too am approaching 80 and I believe this project is the final one with FSX compatibility (my dinosaur choice of sim like many others) - my plastic and hopes to see it await.

After losing one engine in a Baron 55 on takeoff from Buin airport in Bougainville District TPNG, and having completed a go round, the other engine failed over the threshold during final flare - you can bet we all kissed the ground after that one - the aircraft was at MTOW on takeoff ......
