  1. Great set of shots Adam.

Can't place the Orbx airfield though?

& given it's 100F outside & therefore I move more slowly & become more curmudgeonly by the hour , I have to admit to a modicum of p- offednees with AH in that there are flyers hoping they are not 6' under when the DC-3 is finally released in November!

I believe AH had a completed DC-3 &  shelved it for Asobo, then recently pumped out a Chipmunk &  Swift!

IMHO it should have been DC-3, Chipmunk & Swift, in that order.:banghead:

Grumble, mumble, where's the ice water?

  2. 2 shots at making an ILS landing on Rwy 23 at Yeager Airport, using the JF BAE 146-200 in, I think, a retro Continental Express livery.

    Both unsuccessful.

    Attempt 1, too high.

Attempt 2, too low, but I did get to see some amazing trestle work they have as part of the approach lights structure.

  3. Perched 922' up on a plateau in the wilds of West Virginia, Yeager Airport offers 2 challenging ILS approaches.

An Orbx sale is a time to loosed the purse strings!.

Interesting location, came into Rwy 05 after a short hop from KHTS.

Bishan tree/bush colors everywhere on the way to the airport.

Initial impressions - nicely done, & a lot of car parking!

If you fly East Coast USA then don't let this one pass at a bargain price.

A few early morning shots from the airport during the 1st visit, which won't be the last.

Ignore the DC-3 wing planted in the passenger embarkation unit.

  4. Interesting perspectives of an interesting City.

I was last there about 48 years ago & I remember  a Greek community within the City where the more elderly immigrants from Greece had never needed to learn English as they had Greek language newspapers & a microcosm of their old life &  its food & traditions.

I also visited Sydney but preferred the more laid back approach to life that Melbourne had, plus its parks & trams.

Crossing the roads in Sydney was an exercise in attempted suicide.

    Nice! How'd it make out?

Rolled right at runway threshold in wind gust, BUT, I subsequently discovered there is a setting in the MCDU/Aircraft set up that can tell it to hold the center line, & I didn't have that on.

Will try again with the 'Centered' setting.

  6. Discovered that the PMDG 737-700 can Autoland & tested it at EPKK with success, where it landed on its own before I took over the roll out.

Tried at KBUR v2 after departing Rwy 33 & looping around to the North & West before heading back East to ILS/Autoland on Rwy 08.

Whereas EPKK had a 10 kia wind straight down the runway, KBUR had a 14 kia crosswind, & that was my undoing.

The 737 captured the glide path ok & I had both AP's on & it was holding 140 kia right to the edge of the runway when a gust caught it & tipped it right before I could cancel the AP.

However, its worth another shot & I would think a dawn or dusk approach into KBUR v2, (which is looking pretty good),  would be quite spectacular with all the surrounding suburb's lighting.

Just departed KBUR v2 Rwy 33 & headed North.

On the way in to Rwy 08 in Autoland mode. The glide path was captured about 8 miles out & the 737 flew down it very smoothly.

  7. Leonardo MD-82 flying an ILS approach into Rwy 24 at ENAL.

Short hop from ENML & landing straight into the sun.

It took several attempts to sort out the MD-82 ILS. You need to come in straight  towards the runway center line & steady, below [in my case], 2,500', for the Captures to occur.

  8. My Sim budget has been overwhelmed by the recent plethora of aircraft releases.

But Podgorica has the mountains, tricky approaches & runway lengths that can take the 737 & 146 & MD-82.

I like the little touches - shot 9 down, the tractor pulling the luggage carts, & shot 10, the pink flowers in the shrubbery.

I don't recall seeing colored shrubs before, but they add to the beauty of the site.

The terminal interior is tastefully executed.

& there appears to be a military presence in the vicinity of the airfield.

All in all an, interesting airport & location.
