I'm with you, Don. Too many familiar folks have just disappeared. I miss 'em.

Yes, and I think we are a great bunch of people here. I've never had the desire to go to other forums and post, been very happy here. A couple of years back I posted a few pics on Avsim, but that was because they weren't Orbx and I couldn't post them here, but now with all the partners, you can post a heap of varied shots, really great I think.

  2. I've been off the forums for a period, but have returned lately with a number different subjects, and I've noticed a lot of my simmer mates missing. I know Jack Sawyer and Martyn only visit on occasions, I think Jack lurks a lot 😄 but John (Brad), Sniper, etc, who are regulars, just not to be found. Holiday season or maybe just taking a break? Anyway, looking forward to having a forum of regulars back again soon, and checking out your screen shots. 🙂

  3. Hi John, It will be fine until I sort out something better. It wasn't just the 0 -100, I tried several different things - just using the throttle axis as well, and watched quite a few Youtube vids trying to sort it out. Anyway now I'm flying again, which is brilliant, even if I had to take a step back with technology.

  4. Taken from my morning flight - I did three around Brisbane, the Kodiak, the PAC and the Cessna 414AW Chancellor, all perfect. Just took this one shot, think I'll put it up on the wall to remind me the bad days are gone - hopefully. 😄

  5. After months of stuffing about with the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle control that just would not work, my problem is solved, (looks into the bin where he threw the Bravo)😡

This morning I dusted off my Saitek Throttle Control set it up and went for it, so far three out of three perfect flights around YBBN. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner, guess when you've coughed up over AU$400 you just have to see if you can make it work - it didn't, and now it's where it belongs. One of the biggest disappointments was NO communication from Honeycomb to see if they could help.

Okay, the Saitek is my original and doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the Bravo has, but for now, it will be fine, I can have trouble free flying, improvements I can work on down the track. The other important point for me, is, I can now get on with finishing my sim set up instead of having day and after day of frustration and failed flights, brought about by poor equipment.

Yep I know early days, I still have quite a few aircraft to test to make sure it's all good across the board, but right now it's certainly looking good. 😄😄😄

With all the hay fever going around here in Aus, the dusting would've been a good pastime 🤣

In regard to the discord server, I put this to one of our guys in the IT department who advised me that you would need to contact Discord support. Usually, you should just be able to join via the link straight away.

    Thank you for your help

    Hi Don,
If I was you I'd switch it back to the US language just for now so you can fire up MSFS.  I've absolutely no idea why changing it would effect MSFS but then it has many mysteries as you know.  I'll have a look online over the next few days and see what the issue may be.

Sounds like you had an awesome drive to Airlie. It's a fair drive up to there and lucky you made it with a driver falling asleep.

You said it mate, I'm here to tell the story - best part.  😄 I can't go back, won't let me.

  8. Thanks Angelo, it's very frustrating when you are trying to rebuild your sim, and as I posted this morning, I don't see how they can justify messing people around (me), for two hours. They had to know of that problem, and a quick "this is whats happening" would have sufficed, then I could have done the dusting 😄

hey whilst you are here, I tried the Discord like you suggested, it keeps telling my email is taken when I tried to confirm it. Any clues?

After a bad experience with MSFS 2020 and the whole Microsoft apparatus, I chucked it and went through Steam. It's been easy to work with and problem free. Just sayin'

Tried it a while back, didn't like it, probably too used to the store version. I was hoping for a few more guys to chime in today, so I'd know if they were telling me the truth or as I said, a load of BS

  10. Not sure if I'm being served a load of BS or what. I've just spent nearly two hours on MS support for them to tell me "the servers are down", we're working on it. I gave them the error code and it still took them nearly two hours to tell me nothing can be done until they are fixed. Okay IF this is the truth, I can understand, we all have problems, but I had a code for them to identify this - so TWO HOURS, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. In case you missed the point, yes I'm Pi**ed off.

Anyone else had this problem today, tried to use your sim and won't load. I get to the ASOBO screen and it crashes.

Pretty wet up here but I guess it is summer. We arrived here at the start of last winter and still blown away at the fantastic drive up to Port Douglas. Makes it hard to concentrate on the road :D

Only been up that way by road once BUS. I was the Service Manager for Motorama Toyota and Toyota had a SM a technical forum at Airlie Beach. Worst trip of my life, miserable sods (to be polite), wouldn't fly us, and we nearly didn't make it, the bus driver kept running off the road - the relief driver hadn't turned up. Couple of the guys had to sit with him and bash him when he dropped off. 😂 After that went to work for, Fortron, flew to Cairns and did a "milk run" back to Brissy, calling at all the dealerships, long trip.

Moving on, since I changed the region, the sim wont go past the Asobo before it does a CTD, I wondering if MS loaded MSFS that can't be changed. I checked everything over and over and it all looks good, so I don't know.
