  1. Try flying up to Yakutat if you have the Orbx Airport. Some nice custom features in the winter. Larry
  2. Back in the 70's Western used to fly Calgary-Great Falls-Helena-Butte-Idaho Falls-Pocatello-Salt Lake City-Las Vegas-Los Angeles. North of Salt Lake City the legs were only a couple of hundred miles or less. Flights were with a 737-200. Larry
  3. Probably some of the service equipment that automatically appears in parking spots designated as "Gate." You can turn these off if you want by lowering the Airport ground traffic settings. They tend to be of lower quality than a lot of the objects. Larry
  4. This airport was done a long time ago probably by Neil Hill. I don't think Neil did any custom terminal buildings although he sometimes used existing objects to create something resembling the terminal. In this case the default was probably the best solution. What you are seeing is probably correct and the guid would be for the default building ( Not sure where these are located, we just let them remain when revising the airport although sometimes they were moved to the correct location.) The global freeware airports were created to better reflect the airport layouts and buildings but do not use custom created building in most cases, although I did do a few distinctive terminals for some of the airports I created. 5. I believe True Earth does include all the improved airports that were in the original regions. I know all the North American airports were included plus a few outside the original Region boundaries. Some have minor location problems as they were not changed but just added to the True Earth files. For Florida we did new improved airports for the entire True Earth area. Larry
  6. Definitely easier ti taxi with rudder pedals. The plane doesn't tilt as it will with auto connected rudder and aileron. You can also steer using the toe brakes. They also allow you to straighten out the plane when landing at a bit of an angle. Larry
  7. Sloped Runways were not supported in FSX or P3D to version 4. However some creative designers figured out ways of doing it but it involves some trickery. I know a few of the grass runways I did in the Global Freeware Airports are sloped but it is a bigger problem with hard surfaces. One nice example is Ketchikan which has sloped taxiways but the parking spots and gates are hard to designate as FSX tries to make the airport level. Both P3D v 5 and MSFS support sloped runways but it is not a trivial exercise as each intersection point on the runways and taxiways must have a set elevation. At larger airports this becomes a very time consuming job. Larry
  8. The first file is the object file for airport objects. You need it for building objects on the airport. I think True Earth Florida will exclude the entire airport area so there may be no buildings and other objects without it. Larry
  9. Hi Stephan: All the currently active airports were upgraded to a similar standard to the airports in the regions. A number of airports that have been deactivated/abandoned were also upgraded if they were still visible on the Photoreal scenery. These airport use generic hangers and include parked aircraft and some vehicles/clutter/and people. The photos by Rod show the quality of all the airports in Florida. Also in the Miami area one of my favorites is Miami Homestead. Larry
  10. Just a request. 2 Greenland airports are in Global Freeware Airports. Could they be added to the list. BGBW Narsarsuaq is new with the latest pack. BGGH Nuuk was done by Neil a long time ago. Thanks Larry
  11. So many airports in the regions and as global freeware airports. Hard to keep track of all of them. ( I sometimes have to look at a map to remember the airports I have done). Larry
  12. All the airports in the regions (CRM and NRM) have been upgraded to the same standard as the global freeware airports. You can also try using them without Global base but the textures and land class may not match very well. The Orbx libraries are required as most of the objects on the airports are Orbx objects. The airports also are better with the Orbx Land Class. Larry
  13. Sorry to hear about Neil. I worked with him over the last few years and he certainly made my work better. He will be missed. Larry
  14. Thanks Michael. Google Earth shows the paved runway so it shouldn't be too hard to do. Probably not in the next pack but maybe the one after. Larry
  15. Mark: I'll add MTPP to my list. Looks interesting but I have quite a few to do so it may be a while. Larry
  16. The airports are removed because they may interfere with the regions. The airports within the regions are all upgraded to the same standard as the global freeware airports so you get all the airports in the regions to this standard. We only do global freeware airports for areas that are not part of a region. Larry
  17. I"ll add CNL3 and CNT7 to my list. I've been trying to do more in Southern Ontario so these fit in nicely. CCS5 also looks interesting so I will add that also Larry
  18. I'm not sure. There used to be a list. I usually look at the google earth file which shows them all. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=16TLldaoxxmFv7wOWfYyM8zV-bgM&ll=51.54924741444042%2C-106.01806640625&z=7 Larry
  19. Thanks for the kind comments. It makes the work on the airports worthwhile. Larry
  20. I'll add that one to the list too. I'm surprised it wasn't already there. Larry
  21. Jordan: It's on my list. No promises as to time but it's in an area where I've done a bunch of airports and is a good waypoint between east and west so may not be too long. Larry
  22. Grand Case is now on my list as well as Nevis and Canefield. Wallplake was already on the list. Will probably do one or two of them fairly soon. Larry
